Doilies Galore — FabFri19

It’s time for another Fab Friday challenge!  And we have a great sketch challenge for you this time:

I used a little mix of old and new on this card — some new colors (Strawberry Slush and Smoky Slate), some new dsp (Quatrefancy Specialty dsp), and some old favorites (Large Delicate Doilies Sizzlits die, Delicate Doilies and Oh, Hello stamps).

Doilies Galore

Today is the day when you can order from the new catalog.  Yippee!  Today is one of the last days that you can order from the old catalog and the Spring catalog as well.  Sounds like a great day to order to me!

So Long World’s Greatest — FMS

The very talented Jen Mitchell has a great sketch for us today at Freshly Made Sketches.  I think this is such a versatile sketch, and I’m sure I’ll be using it again.

I pulled out a stamp set that I’ve barely had the chance to use, as I just got it a couple of months ago and it will be retiring this week.  I must say that I have really loved this suite of products, which includes the World Spectacular dsp, the Blue Ribbon stamp set, the Take a Ticket wheel, and the You’re Amazing stamp set as well.  I’m glad that it’s only this stamp that is retiring.

Mosaic Squared

It’s Memorial Day in the U.S. today — a time to remember the more than one million men and women who have given their lives in service for their country.    What a sacrifice for those of us who can enjoy the freedoms we often take for granted each day.  I am truly thankful for their sacrifice and that of their families and loved ones.

I was able to spend a little time in my stamp room yesterday and made a card for the challenge at Retro Sketches.

It was fun to make a square card.  I don’t do that often enough.

Farewell to Artistic Etchings and Fan Fair DSP

Happy Sunday!  Sundays mean a new challenge at the Paper Players, and LeAnne has a great sketch challenge for us this week.

I decided to use the Artistic Etchings set, as it will be retiring this week.  I have loved this set and have gotten a lot of good use out of it.  I also used the retiring dsp, Fan Fair, which I’ve also loved.

Farewell to Flower Trim and First Edition DSP

Farewell Flower Trim and First Edition dsp

Two products that I will definitely miss after May 31 are the Flower Trim and the First Edition Specialty dsp.  I love both of these!

Super busy weekend planned.  Wish I could say it was all fun, but my kids have gotten slammed with end of the year school projects.  We also need to do our Spring/Summer planting in the flower bed, and birthday parties to attend for the kids.   Plus, somewhere in there I still have a lot of stamping to do for convention samples.  Glad it’s a long weekend!  And all of these things are truly good things (except for maybe my daughter’s model of the Globe Theater 🙂 ).

Enjoy your Saturday!  Thanks for stopping by!

New Fave Color Combo

I’ve been having fun playing with some of the new In-Colors which will be released on May 31.  I’m trying to figure out what color combinations I like, and I found one today that I really like — Strawberry Slush, Daffodil Delight, Smoky Slate, and Old Olive.  I think Strawberry Slush will be a favorite color of mine.

Strawberry Slush and Oh, Hello

My posts have been a little irregular lately, and they will probably continue to be so for the next couple of weeks.  I apologize!  I’ve been working fast and furiously on some samples for the display boards for Stampin’ Up’s convention in July.  I have a short turn-around time and I have a lot to get finished in the next two weeks.  I can’t show you what I’ve been working on now, but after Convention I’ll have a lot to share with you.

Enjoy your Thursday!  Thanks for stopping by!

Welcome Back Bermuda Bay — FMS87

The very talented and super kind Jennifer Timko has a fun sketch for us at Freshly Made Sketches this week.

I wanted to use one of the old In-Colors that Stampin’ Up! is bringing back as part of their Brights collection — Bermuda Bay.

Double Flower

I liberally applied some Vanilla Smooch Spritz on this card.  It adds such a pretty shimmer.

I hope you’ll be able to join us in this challenge.  Go by the Freshly Made Sketches site and see what the other designers made.

Bring on the Cake Meets Make a Wish

bring on the cake x3

With three young children, I feel like we are always in need of last minute tags for birthday parties.  So I made three for our stash today.  I combined two fun birthday sets — Bring on the Cake and Make a Wish,  to make these easy tags.

Masculine Label — PP146

The super talented Ann Schach has a great challenge for us this week at the Paper Players.

I don’t know about you, but masculine cards never come easily for me.    I always struggle with making them.  I’m not sure I would exactly call this card masculine, but I wouldn’t call it feminine either.   I think it could easily pass for a guy’s card.  There is no ribbon, rhinestones, nor buttons.  The guys in my house think that those items disqualify a card from the masculine category automatically.

Masculine Label

I decided to go with a grungy look — well, this is about as grungy as I get.  I distressed the edges of the dsp and crumpled it up (which still seems wrong to me, but I just took a deep breath and did it).

Go take a look at what the rest of the team did with the challenge at the Paper Players, and then join us.

Enjoy your Sunday!  Thanks for stopping by!
