Triple Snowflakes

My stamping time has been very limited the past few days.  I don’t like that.  I thought I’d have some time yesterday morning, but that didn’t work out.  Why does it always take so much longer to wrap Christmas presents than I think it will?  I thought it would take me about an hour-and-a-half, and three-and-a-half hours later I was finally finishing up.  Granted, I was also doing laundry, coordinating the 2nd grade teachers’ gifts, checking up on the painters who are working on the outside of our house, and the countless other things us stay-at-home moms do all day.  But still…it took all morning!  And I was supposed to have stamping time in there.  Oh well, that’s the way it goes it sometimes!  At least I got all of the Christmas presents wrapped, right.

Triple Flakes

I wanted to play along with the challenge at the Paper Players for this week.  The challenge is to make a clean and simple project featuring snowflakes.

I used the sketch at Mojo Monday for my card.

Oh, Hello! Spring Catalog — Sneak Peek

I received my pre-order for the new Spring catalog last week and I have been good about not playing with it, until now.  I made myself promise that I wouldn’t get into it until I finished my Christmas crafting, because I knew that once I went down the Spring road it would be hard to come back to Christmas.  I’m close, but not quite done with my Christmas stamping, but I just couldn’t resist today — I felt like I needed a little treat.  Oh, discipline is so NOT fun!  🙂

sneak peek of oh hello

I wanted to play along with the challenge over at Freshly Made Sketches, and I thought this new stamp set, called Oh, Hello would be perfect (plus, I just really wanted to play with it).  There are also a couple of other sneak peeks with this card — some new oval framelits dies, some new dsp called Tea for Two, and another set of new framelits which has some cute banner shapes.  So save your Christmas money — the new Spring catalog goes live on January 3.

A Christmas Owl Treat Sack

Christmas Owl Treat Sack

I wanted to make some little Christmas treat sacks in which I could put some Christmas cookies for little gifts for my kids’ teachers.  The Fancy Favor die is such a time saver when it comes to making things like this!  It makes these cute little sacks in no time.  I added some of the scalloped tulle ribbon from the holiday catalog and a little red jingle bell to tie it up.  I attached a Snow Festival Designer Printed tag after stamping the greeting.  I can write a quick message on the back.

Now, to just get the cookies made this weekend!  There’s a lot on my list to do this weekend!  But it’s all good!

Sympathy Swirls

I needed to make a sympathy card for my mother-in-law, whose dog was run over yesterday. She lives alone, and her dog was her beloved companion. It’s so hard to lose a pet! My heart goes out to her.

Oh, Come Let Us Adore Him

Wise Men

I love this stamp set and couldn’t believe that I hadn’t pulled it out yet this year.  The sentiments and main image are meaningful and capture the true beauty of Christmas.  I embossed the main image with clear embossing powder and kept the rest simple.  I did have to add a little bit of bling with the Champagne Glimmer Paper though.

Have a great Wednesday!  Thanks for stopping by!

I needed to make a couple of quick and easy note cards to put in a couple of customer orders today.  I was able to whip these up in just a few minutes.  These little cards are 3″x3″.  Stampin’ Up sells the cutest little square envelopes to go with this size.

Have a great Tuesday!  Thanks for stopping by!

Etruscan Postage

Etruscan Postage

I really wanted to play along with the weekly challenge at The Paper Players.  It’s a color challenge, and one of the colors is Pool Party.  I had kinda weaned myself from this color while making Christmas cards the past couple of months, but I think I’ve gotten addicted again.  It seems like I’ve been using it a lot again lately.  I don’t even want to think about it retiring in June.

I used the sketch at the Mojo Monday site.  I really love this sketch!

I hope you have a great Monday!  Thanks for stopping by!

A Small Break from Christmas Cards

I feel like I’ve been making Christmas cards for so long that I felt the need to make something non-Christmas-y today.  There is an adorable set in the Holiday Catalog called Affection Collection, and it was given to all of us Stampin’ Up convention attendees.  It’s geared towards Valentine’s Day, but is really appropriate for much more than that.  And since this set is only available through the end of the month, I thought I’d better use it before you won’t be able to get it anymore.

Love Affection Collection

I used this week’s sketch at Freshly Made Sketches for this card.

My favorite thing on this card is the embossed background behind the bow and main image.  I used the Etruscan Elegance wheel (LOVE that thing) with clear embossing powder.  I love the look of clear embossing powder on Very Vanilla card stock.  Here’s a closer look:

Affection Close Up

This was a fun card to make, and I think I’ve found a new favorite color combination — Pool Party, Riding Hood Red, Pink Pirouette, and Very Vanilla.  The catalog says the designer series paper’s color is Riding Hood Red, but it must be a different shade than the card stock.  Whatever it is, I love it with the other colors.

I hope you enjoy your Sunday!  Thanks for stopping by!

A Shiny, Sparkly Snowflake

All That GlimmersWhen I saw the inspiration picture at the Moxie Fab blog this week, I was inspired and knew I had to play along.

When I saw the beautiful tray, I thought of the Brushed Silver card stock, which I haven’t pulled out in a LONG time.  It’s so pretty, I really should use it more.  I embossed the medallion in the background with vanilla embossing powder (I wish SU carried this color) and then used silver and champagne glimmer paper for the snowflake.  I embossed the sentiment with silver embossing powder.  This was a fun card to make because it is so over the top for me.

Enjoy your Saturday!  Thanks for stopping by!

Bells & Birds — FabFri08

I was recently asked to join the Fab Friday Challenge Blog design team.  It’s a relatively new challenge blog, and there are some really great stampers that are on this team.  I was honored to be asked and excited to join.  So every other Friday, a new challenge is posted on the blog.  Come by and play along!  I’d love to see what you do with the challenges!

This week’s challenge is a color challenge, and there are lots of colors to work with.  I keep forgetting that there is a cute Christmas stamp in the For the Birds set, so when I remembered recently, I knew I wanted to use it for this challenge.  I used my markers to color in the image.

Bells & A Bird

I bought a package of red, glittery bells at a Christmas clearance sale last year and stashed them away for this Christmas.  Of course, I forgot all about them until my little one found them the other day and was jingling away throughout the house.  For once, I was thankful that she was digging in stuff she wasn’t supposed to be.

Enjoy your Friday!  Don’t forget to go over to the Fab Friday challenge blog to see what the rest of the team did with the challenge this week, and play along with us.  Thanks for stopping by!
