A Mosaic Celebration

Mosaic Celebration

I was playing around with the Mosaic Madness set again, and whipped up this card.  I love the colors with this dsp, and the coordinating punch makes it so easy to use this set.  Fun, Fun!

A follow up on Tuesday’s post — Some of you asked me to let you know what my daughter thought of this card, which I posted on Tuesday.  I put it in her lunchbox before she left for school and wrote her a little note inside about how I was so proud of her for adjusting so well to a new school this year and for making wise choices about the friendships she has developed.  When she came in the door from school, she said thanks for the nice card and then she said, “But the front was kinda weird.”  When I asked her what was weird, she said, “Love your GUTS?  Why guts?” as she wrinkled her nose.   Hmmm… so maybe I’m not as old and un-hip as I thought I might be.  A successful test!

Enjoy your Friday!  Thanks for stopping by!

Farewell to Moving Forward — FMS86

Well, it’s Wednesday, and that means it’s time for another challenge at Freshly Made Sketches.   And this week I am the hostess, which means I had to come up with the sketch.  This is my first time to do this, so I hope you like it and that you will play along with us.

I decided to use the current Ronald McDonald House set, called Moving Forward.  Every year, Stampin’ Up! designs a stamp set and donates a portion of the proceeds ($3 for every set this year) to the Ronald McDonald House charity.  This year’s set is one of my very favorites that they’ve had, and I will miss it.

Farewell Moving Forward

I really hope you can join us this week at Freshly Made Sketches.  Go check out what the other designers made — you’ll be inspired.

Enjoy your Wednesday!  Thanks for stopping by!

I Seriously Love My Paper Pumpkin

So, do you subscribe to My Paper Pumpkin?  Stampin’ Up! has a fun monthly subscription service, in which they ship everything you need to make a fun project each month.  Everything is pre-cut and ready to go.  And one of the fun things about it is that you never know what you’re going to get.

Well, this month’s kit includes a stamp set that kinda surprised me.  It includes one stamp that says, “Seriously” and two other stamps which say “love your guts” and “you kick booty.”  Yes, these are Stampin’ Up! stamps!  I have never heard anyone say, “love your guts” before.  So I thought it would be fun to make a card with this stamp and put it in my twelve year-old daughter’s lunchbox.  I’ve never heard her say this, so I think it will be a good test.  Am I just old and un-hip, or is this a regional saying from Utah?  hmmmm….  You don’t need to answer that question!

Seriously

I made the card with her favorite colors — Pumpkin Pie and Bermuda Bay.  I’ve also used one of the new In-Colors, Strawberry Slush, which will be released on May 31.  I love it!

Enjoy your Tuesday!  Thanks for stopping by!

A Trio of Silhouettes — PP145

Happy Mother’s Day, all you mothers out there!  I hope you are having a special day with those you love most.

It’s time for another color challenge at the Paper Players.  And this is what the ever-talented Jaydee has for us:

I must say that the current year’s in-colors and I are not the best of friends.  I’d say we’re merely acquaintances.  So wouldn’t you know that this is the second color challenge I’ve done in the past couple of days that features colors from this collection.  I guess that maybe I need to get to know them better.

Silhouette Trio

My first thought with these colors was to go a masculine route, but it seems like I’ve been suffering from a floral addiction lately, so I decided to go with the floral theme.  I hadn’t used my Summer Silhouettes set in a while, so I pulled it out and went with a CAS (Clean And Simple) look for today.

Come join us at the Paper Players this week, and check out what the other designers did with these colors:

Enjoy your Sunday!  Thanks for stopping by!

Supplies Used:
Stamps:  Summer Silhouettes, Made for You

A Pop of Red

Bold Polka Dot Flower

Not much stamping on this card, but it was fun to make.  I recently got the Natural Composition Specialty dsp (I know — where have I been?!), and have been playing with it a little lately.  On this card, I cut a panel of it and used a sponge dauber and White craft ink to soften the Crumb Cake color a little.  When I was finished sponging, I wiped off the excess ink with a paper towel to reveal the beautiful embossed pattern.  Pretty easy!

Enjoy your Saturday!  Thanks for stopping by!

Supplies Used:
Stamps:  Made for You
Ink:  Real Red, White craft
Paper:  Real Red, Pool Party, So Saffron, Natural Composition Specialty dsp, Polka Dot Parade dsp

Eleanor Meets Floral Fusion — FabFri18

It’s time for another challenge at Fab Friday, and this time it’s a color challenge.

Considering that I rarely use any of these colors, this was definitely a Challenge (with a capital C) for me.  I was hoping inspiration would strike all week, but it didn’t.  So I sat down with the Everything Eleanor set, since I hadn’t used it in a while, and pulled out the colors.  And after playing with some of the elements for a while, I was finished.  And I kinda like how it turned out.

Eleanor Meets Floral Fusion

That’s one of the things that I love about challenges — they often get you to try things that you might normally not try.

Well, I hope you’ll play along with us at Fab Friday.  You have two weeks.  Enjoy your Friday!  Thanks for stopping by!

From the Bottom of My Heart — FMS85

So, have you ever been over to Narelle Faruggia’s blog?  She is one talented Aussie stamper, and she has a great sketch for us at Freshly Made Sketches today.

I pulled out a fun set I haven’t used in a while, From My Heart.

A Theme for Mom — PP144

It’s all about Mom today at the Paper Players.

Now, I know that Mother’s Day is next Sunday, but for those of us who need to get a card in the mail pretty soon in order for Dear Mom to receive her card on time, it’s a good thing that Anne Marie Hile made this challenge for us today.

I was inspired by a picture of a beautiful shower curtain I saw in a Garnet Hill catalog recently.  I tore out the page and pasted it in my inspiration notebook.

The gray on this card is actually one of the new colors, Smoky Slate.  It’s such a pretty gray.  It almost looks silver on the white card stock.

I hope you can make time to join us in the challenge at the Paper Players this week.  You need a Mother’s Day card anyway, right?  Go check out what the other talented designers made:
