Phone Booth

thanks in a phone booth

Here’s a sneak peek of a stamp set that will be included in the Sale-a-Bration offerings starting January 22nd.  This set includes three detailed vintage-style images and a sentiment, and I love them all.

When my husband peeked in on me as I was finishing this one up, he told me he “didn’t get it.”  He didn’t understand what the “thanks” ticket, two cent stamp, ruler and phone booth had to do with each other.  Hmmm….  I told him that they were all things that I like — simple as that.  Maybe I won’t be sending this one out in the mail.  🙂

Have a great Tuesday!  Thanks for stopping by!

Love is in the Air — PP127

I was recently asked to be a guest designer on the Paper Players blog.  I’ll be designing cards for their weekly challenges for the next six months along with their talented designers and other guest designers.  I’ve been playing along with their challenges since I found their blog a few months ago and I love their challenges and what their team creates each week.  I’m really looking forward to this assignment!

So here’s the challenge for this week:

I knew I wanted to use hearts, and I just love the crisp look of Real Red and Very Vanilla together, so that is what I used.

A Purple Valentine

Purple Valentine

This card is dedicated to my dear West Texas friend (miss you, Cheryl!), who is a lover of purple.  I kinda struggle with incorporating purple into any of my projects, but I was determined to use Wisteria Wonder on a Valentine’s card.  I thought of Cheryl while I made this, and kept telling myself, “Cheryl wouldn’t be struggling with this if she were using this color.”

I got this color combination right off the Color Coach.  It’s one of the combinations listed on the Wisteria Wonder card.  I used this week’s sketch from the Freshly Made Sketches blog.

So is there any color you struggle with using?

Enjoy your Saturday!  Thanks for stopping by!

A Row of Butterflies — FabFri09

It’s time for another Fab Friday challenge after having been on a short break for the Christmas holiday.  Mindy has a great sketch challenge for this week.

I immediately thought of snowflakes when I saw this sketch, but my heart wanted to do something more Spring-y.  Maybe it’s because of all of the cold and gray weather we’ve been having lately, and I’m looking forward to Spring already.

A Row of Butterflies

Here’s another card with some fun new products from the Sping catalog.  I used the new Bitty Butterfly punch, which layers perfectly with the Elegant Butterfly punch in the annual catalog.  And I also used some of the new Delicate Details Lace Tape, which comes in two designs and has a self-adhesive backing, so it’s easy to attach to your projects.

Here’s a closer look at the tape and butterflies:

Yea!! The Spring catalog goes live today! Do you have your list ready?  Here’s a card with some more of the new products for you.

a doily valentine

Yesterday’s card featured one of the new products — Creped Filter Paper.  I used one of the heart framelits from the Hearts Collection set to cut out several layers of hearts using this paper.  I then spritzed them with the Color Spritzer tool and sewed them together right down the middle.  Here’s a closer look:

A Fluffy Flower for a Friend

Creped Filter Paper Flower

One of the new products offered in the Spring catalog (which starts tomorrow) is Creped Filter Paper, which is a cross between crepe paper and coffee filter paper.  I wasn’t quite sure what to do with it, so I’ve been playing with it a little.  You can use punches with it, which is what I did with this card.  You can use it with dies, and you can dye it, which I also did here.  It comes in white.  I wanted to try dyeing it, so I added some ink from my Pretty in Pink ink refill and dyed it.  It was easy!

Well, I hope your new year is off to a good start!  Thanks for stopping by!

Happy New Year!

Well, it’s 2013! I hope you had a fun evening ringing in the new year. I got some stamping time in yesterday, and hope to get some more time doing that today. Sounds like a great way to start the new year to me.

I’ve been playing with some more new Sale-a-Bration goodies. Sale-a-Bration starts on January 22 — just three short weeks away.  For every $50 you spend on Stampin’ Up products, you’ll be able to choose one of 19 different products for free, and there are some great products that will only be available during the promotion period from which to choose.  I have used four of these products on my card today.

Madison Avenue Row of Flowers

So can you identify four new products?  I used a new embossing folder (Vine Street), stamp set (Madison Avenue), designer series paper (Sycamore Street), and ribbon (Sycamore Street Ribbon & Button Pack).  You’re going to love the Sale-a-Bration offerings!

Enjoy your New Year’s Day!  Thanks for stopping by!
