Gold Dots and Birthday Candles

Gold Polka Dots and Candles

This Gold Fancy Foil Designer Vellum is so fun!  It adds an instant touch of glam to whatever you make.

I needed to make a birthday card for a sweet friend, and I hadn’t used the Birthday Candles wheel in a while so I pulled it out.  I stamped the candles in Pool Party, Strawberry Slush and Midnight Muse (it looks black in the photo, but it’s really dark blue).  I layered a sheet of white card stock behind the vellum.

Lots of Birthday Candles — Monday Montage #8

Monday Montage Banner -- October

It’s time for another Monday Montage blog hop!  There are ten of us that participate in this hop, so at the bottom of this post there will be a link to the next blog and you can follow the links all the way through.

I decided to make a little birthday ensemble — a card and small sack to hold a small gift or gift card.  I used the Birthday Candles wheel to make all of the candles.  I stamped them with Versamark ink and then used clear embossing powder with which to emboss them.  My color palette includes Pink Pirouette, Strawberry Slush, Aqua Mist, and So Saffron.

Birthday treats

I added sequins to the card and a sentiment from Four You.

I used a little plain, white paper sack for the gift and some Crushed Curry 3/4″ Chevron Ribbon (which blends in really well with the So Saffron ink on the sack).  I also used the Numbers wheel along the bottom.

Birthday Candles — FabFri20

It’s time for another Fab Friday challenge, friends!  And this week we have a fun color challenge for you:

I don’t know about you, but I LOVE the new In-Colors, and this week we are featuring all of them.  If you don’t have them yet, you can choose similar colors (but hurry and get these — you’ll love them!).

I chose to use a new wheel called Birthday Candles for my card and made each candle one of the colors.  I know I cheated a little in that I used an additional color on my card, So Saffron, for the flames on the candles.  I just couldn’t get happy with it without using a yellow for the flames.

One of the new products in the new catalog that I was so excited to see is the Squares Framelits.  They make it so easy to make a frame, like this Polaroid-style frame that I used on this card.  Very fun!

I hope you’ll join us in this challenge.   You can check out what the other designers did with these yummy colors at the Fab Friday Challenge site.

Enjoy your Friday!  Thanks for stopping by!
