A Birthday Celebration — Monday Montage #119

Welcome to another Monday Montage blog hop!  We are a group of nine stampers who love to share what we create with you, and all you have to do to follow along is click on the links at the bottom of each post.

I needed to make a birthday card for my Dad, and I always seem to struggle with masculine cards.  So I decided to pull out the Picture Perfect Birthday set.  Birthday candles and confetti are always perfect for guys and girls, right?

I started with a Bermuda Bay card base and added in some fun, bright colors such as Lemon Lime Twist, Poppy Parade, Mango Melody, Daffodil Delight, and Pool Party.

I was inspired by the current challenge at The Paper Players, which is:

It is their 400th challenge!  That definitely deserves a celebration!  And they are having a big one for the next couple of weeks!  Lots of prizes and inspiration at their blog — go check it out.  The Paper Players is one of the first challenge sites I ever participated in, and I have used their weekly challenges as starting points for many of my cards over the years.

You’re ready to hop on over to Breelin Renwick’s blog.  I always love seeing what she makes!  If you prefer to work your way backwards, you can jump back to Wendy Weixler’s blog.  Either way, be sure to work your way through all of the blogs so you don’t miss a thing.

Happiest of Birthdays

I needed to make a birthday card for a friend this week and when I saw the sketch over at the Global Design Project, I knew it would be perfect for what I had in mind.

I love the Picture Perfect Party Suite in the Occasions catalog.  The images are festive and the fonts for the sentiments are so fun.  I started by stamping off the candles first onto a piece of scrap paper before stamping on my card panel to get a lighter image.  The sentiment was then stamped over the candles.

Some dsp pieces were added from the Bubbles & Fizz Sale-a-Bration offering.  I love this stuff, and it’s free!  Some of the self-adhesive sequins were added and a bit of baker’s twine was tied into a bow.  I love decorating envelopes, so I had to stamp on it as well.

This color combo makes my heart happy!  Hopefully, it will make my friend happy as well.

Enjoy your Friday!  Thanks for stopping by!
