Hello, Flower Shop — FMS182

It’s Wednesday, and it’s April 15.  For those of us in the US, that it not a very fun day as it is the day when our annual income tax returns must be filed.  I finished and clicked the “Send” button last night (yeah, I procrastinate when it comes to doing taxes), so I can relax today.  Hopefully, you are done too and you can kick back and check out the new challenge over at Freshly Made Sketches.  The super talented Rita Wright is our hostess this week and she has a great sketch for us.  This one really leaves you lots of room to be creative.

I decided to use a flower set that was getting a little dusty on my shelf, Flower Shop.  I stamped the flower three times and then colored them with my aquapainter.  I added some splatters with a stamp that was included in a Paper Pumpkin set a long time ago.

Flower ShopI used a sentiment from Four You, and used two of my favorite In-Colors, which will soon be retiring — Coastal Cabana and Strawberry Slush.  The other color is Daffodil Delight.

We hope you’ll join us and make your own card using the sketch.  We do love to see what you create.  Meanwhile, you can venture over to the Freshly Made Sketches blog to see what the design team made for some inspiration.

Enjoy your Wednesday, even though it is tax day.  Thanks for stopping by!

Hello Layered Flower

Hello Layered Flower

Here’s a quick and easy card for you today.  I took a sheet from the Neutrals DSP Stack and embossed the sentiment from Four You (a go-to set for me) with Black Stampin’ Emboss Powder.  I then stamped flowers from Flower Shop and Petite Petals on Strawberry Slush card stock, and punched them out with their coordinating punches.

I added a button and white baker’s twine, and called it a day.  Sometimes when you only have fifteen minutes to stamp, you’ve got to make it quick and easy.  That’s one of the things I love about punches.

Enjoy your Monday!  Thanks for stopping by!

Thinking of You Flower

Sorry for the terrible picture!  Not sure what I did wrong, but I really should check my pictures before I mail the cards and it’s too late to get a better picture.  Oh, well!

The card base on this one is Pool Party.  I added some of the Gold Fancy Foil Designer Vellum, and then some ribbon and trim.  The flower is stamped with the Flower Shop set and punched with the Pansy punch.  The smaller flower is punched with the Petite Petals punch.

A Gold Pansy

A Gold PansyI love the look of clear embossing on Very Vanilla card stock.  I pulled out Hello, Doily and embossed it on the card base.  Then I embossed the pretty pansy from Flower Shop with gold embossing powder and punched it out.  I already had the heat gun out, so why not?

I added some gold touches (I’ve been doing that a lot lately, haven’t I?) and ribbons and called it a day.

Enjoy your Thursday!  Thanks for stopping by!

Supplies Used:
Stamps:  Hello, Doily; Flower Shop
Ink: Versamark

Embellishments:  Gold Sequin trim, Coastal Cabana 3/8″ Stretch Ruffle Trim, 5/8″ Crochet Trim, Gold Baker’s Twine, In Color Boutique Details, Pansy punch, Clear and Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder

Gold Dots Birthday

Happy Golden BirthdayHere’s a birthday card in which I’ve used a variety of different products.  I’ll leave a complete list at the bottom of this post.

I started by embossing the “Happy” on vellum card stock with Melon Mambo embossing powder.  I then colored in the outlined image with a blender pen and Melon Mambo ink, and cut it out with my paper snips.

I stamped the flower with Melon Mambo ink on Whisper White card stock and punched it out with my Pansy punch.  I then punched out another flower shape with vellum card stock and placed it on top of the stamped flower to mute the pink a little bit and give it a softer touch.

I also added some fun gold touches with washi tape and sequins.  I love the look of gold accents with white.

Enjoy your Thursday!  Thanks for stopping by!

Four Pansies — FMS110

It’s Wednesday again!  And that means we have another sketch for you over at Freshly Made Sketches!  Our hostess this week is Rita Wright, and besides having one of the cutest toddlers, she is also a very talented stamper.  Here’s her sketch:

This one was challenging for me.  I always have a hard time with sketches like this, where there are multiple small boxes or circles.  I hadn’t used the Flower Shop stamp set in a while, so I pulled it out.   I embossed the flowers with white embossing powder on Calypso Coral card stock, and then I embossed the sentiment with black embossing powder on vellum card stock.  Very simple.

Another Convention Swap

One of the fun parts of Convention is swapping cards with other demonstrators.  Now imagine 6,000 excited demonstrators in one large space walking around and swapping cards with other demonstrators they don’t know.  It’s a great way to meet people and share great ideas.  Here is one of the cards I made for swapping this year.

Pansies on an Slant — FMS94

Take a look at this fun Freshly Made Sketches challenge from the super talented Linda Suarez:

I love this sketch!  It is very versatile and trendy.  I decided to embrace the white space with my card, but I decided it needed texture so I used the chevron embossing folder.

Flower Shop and Chevrons

Stamp sets that have coordinating punches are so much fun!  They make creating so much easier and faster.  I have been enjoying playing with the new Flower Shop stamp set and the coordinating Pansy Punch.  I also used the new Dictionary Background stamp on the Soft Sky card base.  Love this!

Flower Shop Patterns

I was also playing around with some different color combinations, and I decided that I really like this one — Soft Sky, Rich Razzleberry, Blushing Bride, and Smoky Slate.  I threw in a little Pear Pizzazz for the leaves as well.

The super talented Ann Schach has a pretty color challenge for us at the Paper Players today.

These are some of my favorite colors, so this challenge was a fun one for me.  I pulled out a couple of new stamp sets to use.  I love the new Flower Shop set.  It has a coordinating punch — love that!
