Home Run Hooray — FMS533

It’s time for another new sketch at Freshly Made Sketches, and this week our hostess, the incredible Jen Brum, has another fabulous sketch for us. Take a look:

I have enjoyed using the Hey Sports Fan suite in the mini catalog, and will be sad to see it retire next week. I wanted to use it one more time before that happens and this sketch seemed perfect for one of the dies in the set.

I used the long, skinny tickets die to cut out some of the coordinating dsp to make the three strips in the sketch. The yellow sentiment was cut out of another sheet in the dsp collection.

I embossed the Hooray sentiment on a piece of Poppy Parade card stock and cut it out with another one of the dies. I used an old stars themed embossing folder on the background card stock and added some fun Resin Stars on the banner to complete the star theme.

With a great sketch, this card came together easily. We hope you’ll join us and create your own card using it! We love to see what you make as we browse the gallery each week. Meanwhile, be sure to stop by the Freshly Made Sketches site to see what the design team has created for your inspiration.

Enjoy your Wednesday! Thanks for stopping by!

Most Valuable Dad — FMS527

There is some new inspiration for you over at the Freshly Made Sketches site today! Our theater loving friend, Judy Rozema, has a fun sketch for us. Take a peek:

When I first saw the three focal rectangles in the sketch, I immediately thought of the ticket die in the Hey Sports Fan suite. With that as my starting point, another Father’s Day card seemed appropriate.

I started by cutting out the smaller tickets from one of the coordinating dsp sheets. I then stamped the sentiment on another piece of the dsp and cut it out too. The strip of striped dsp is another sheet from this pack..

With a few Resin Stars Embellishments, this card was quick and easy to complete!

We hope you’ll join us and make your own card using the sketch! Meanwhile, be sure to stop by the Freshly Made Sketches site to see what the design team has created for your inspiration!

Ahead of the Game for Once — FMS524

We have a new sketch for you at Freshly Made Sketches, and this week our hostess, the queen of gorgeous die-cuts, Cecile Ribon, brings us a fabulous sketch all the way from France. Take a look at this fun sketch:

When I saw the sketch, I immediately thought of a die in the Hey Sports Fan suite. It’s not one of the focal dies in the set, nor is it one I’d probably normally think to use, but those little chevrons in the sketch made me think of it. So that made me want to use the coordinating stamp set and dsp since I just got it as well. And since it works so well for masculine cards and I don’t need any masculine birthday cards soon, I thought why not get ahead and make a father’s day card. This may be a record for me on having a card made before I need it. Now let’s see if I remember I have it when the time comes to actually send it!

I started with those fun little chevron dies on a piece of the Hey Sports fan dsp. I cut out the pennant from another sheet of the dsp, and stamped the Happy Father’s Day sentiment on a piece of white card stock, which I then cut out with my paper snips.

I added a few Resin Stars and a baker’s twine bow and called it a day for the outside of the card. But since this card came together so quickly, I had a little extra time and decided to decorate the inside of the card too. A little more stamping and a strip of dsp made quick work of that. And then I thought, why stop there? Why not decorate the envelope too?

We hope you’ll join us and create your own card using the sketch! We love to see what you make as we browse the gallery each week. Meanwhile, be sure to stop by the Freshly Made Sketches site to see what the design team has created for your inspiration.
