Balloon Adventures Await — FMS399

We have a new sketch for you over at Freshly Made Sketches, and this week our hostess is our friend from way up North, Jen Brum.  She has an aversion to circles, so it should be no surprise to see squares in her sketch.  Take a look:

I hadn’t made a square card in a while, so it was fun to do something different.  I still had the Time for Tags hostess stamp set on my desk from the last card I made, and there is a cute hot air balloon image on one of the tags that I thought would work perfectly with the sketch.

I started by inking some Balmy Blue ink onto a white piece of card stock.  I then applied some embossing paste over a cloud stencil from the Pattern Party Decorative Masks pack.

The balloons were stamped and colored with markers and then I cut them out with my paper snips.

I thought this would be another good card for my daughter who is going off to college next month.

We hope you’ll join us and create your own card using the sketch.  We love to see what you make as we browse the gallery each week.  Meanwhile, be sure to stop by the Freshly Made Sketches site to see what the design team has created for your inspiration.

Enjoy your Wednesday!  Thanks for stopping by!

Time for a Birthday Tag — Monday Montage #144

Welcome to another Monday Montage blog hop!  We are a group of stampers who love to share what we create with you, and all you have to do to follow along is click on the links at the bottom of each post.

I’m a sucker for cute images, and one of the hostess sets has some super cute images.  It’s called Time for Tags, and not only are the images cute but it also has a coordinating punch.  That’s a winning combination.

I started by lightly applying some Crushed Curry ink onto a piece of white card stock.  I then added some splatters and let it all dry.  I then stamped the “Celebrate” sentiment from the set with Crushed Curry ink.  A strip of dsp from the Bird Ballad dsp pack was added on top.

The focal image was colored with markers and punched out with the Timeless Label Punch.  A few sequins and some white baker’s twine were added as embellishments.

You’re ready to hop on over to Breelin Renwick’s blog.  I always love seeing what she makes!  If you prefer to work your way backwards, you can jump back to Wendy Weixler’s blog.  Either way, be sure to work your way through all of the blogs so you don’t miss a thing.
