Creepy, Crawly Chevrons — FabFri

It’s a Fab Friday day today!  And we have a sketch challenge for you:

I love this sketch, but for some reason it gave me fits!  I tried many different ideas for this card and was just about ready to throw in the towel because I wasn’t liking the way any of them were turning out.  Then I stepped away and when I came back I decided I was trying to make it too hard by trying to be creative.  So I just copied the sketch exactly like it is, and voila, I finally had a card.  Whew!  Creativity is just hard on some days!

Creepy Crawly ChevronsYou can see the other designers’ creations over at the Fab Friday site here.   I hope you’ll join us as we love seeing what you create too.

Creepy, Crawly Halloween Treat Sack — FabFri28

Wow!  It’s already time for another Fab Friday challenge.  And this time around we have a fun color challenge for you:

Since this one just screamed Halloween to me, I decided to just go with it.  I love making little Halloween treats, so that is what I decided to make for this challenge.  The little Mini Muslin Bags are such a great size to hold bite-size candies and little treats.  And they’re so fun to decorate!

Creepy Crawly Treat SackUsing the stencils in the Build a Banner Simply Created Kit, I sponged Rich Razzleberry ink to make the polka dots on the bag.  It was pretty quick and I love how this allows you to decorate the bags with any color scheme you choose.

Go by the Fab Friday blog and check out what the other designers made with the colors in this week’s challenge.  And then make your own project and share it with us.  You have two weeks!

Enjoy your Friday!  Thanks for stopping by!

Creepy Crawly — FMS101

This week we have a fun sketch for you at Freshly Made Sketches from the supremely talented Linda Callahan.  She is not only talented at paper crafting, but I so enjoy her sense of humor.

When I saw the long panel on this sketch, I knew I wanted to use this fun Halloween stamp from the Halloween Bash stamp set.  I colored it with my markers.  I swear I use my markers to ink stamps just as much as I do my ink pads.  I love my markers!

creepy crawlyDid you notice the tiny black scallops along the long panel?  I made them with the new Small Scallop Stampin’ Trimmer Rotary Cutting Blade (say that five times really fast :)).  It is so easy to use, and I love the effect — it’s very subtle and adds just a little extra something-something.

I hope you can make the time to join us at Freshly Made Sketches this week!  The design team has some great inspiration for you at the website here.

Enjoy your Wednesday!  Thanks for stopping by!
