Praying for a Sweet Friend — FMS483

It’s time for another new sketch at Freshly Made Sketches, and this week our hostess is the fussy-cutting, floral queen, Narelle Farrugia. Take a look at this fabulous sketch:

My daughter has a good friend who has been struggling with some undiagnosed health issues, which have gotten worse over the past few months. I feel for her, and pray for her often. I wanted to make a card for her and send it to her as she prepares for final exams.

I used the Pretty Perennials set and coordinating dies to make this card. The dsp is from the Fine Art Floral collection. I stamped the envelope too, which is a quick and easy way to add a special touch.

I stamped the flower twice and layered them on top of each other. The twine is some old, retired twine and the Holiday Rhinestone Jewels are on the current retiring list.

We hope you’ll join us and create your own card using the sketch! We love to see what make as we browse the gallery each week. Meanwhile, be sure to stop by the Freshly Made Sketches site to see what the design team has created for your inspiration.

Perennials for Easter — FMS478

It’s time for a new sketch at Freshly Made Sketches, and this week our hostess is the amazing Jen Timko. Actually, I should call her Captain Timko, as she has recently become one of United Airline’s newest captains. A big Congratulations to her!! Take a look at the fun sketch she has for us this week:

I need to make some Easter cards to put in some Easter Basket care packages, so that was my goal with this sketch. I don’t really have any current cute Easter stamps, so I decided to go with pretty Spring flowers instead.

I started by stamping some of the floral images from the Pretty Perennials set and then cut them out with the coordinating Perennial Petals dies.

I added the little “Easter” sentiment from the A Wish for Everything stamp set. A strip of dsp from the Ice Cream Corner collection was added at the bottom of the card base.

Pierced Blooms Happy Mail — FMS470

We’re back with another new sketch at Freshly Made Sketches, and this week our hostess is the extraordinarily talented Canadian stamper, Jen Brum. Take a look at this fun sketch:

I thought it was only fitting that I should pull out the Pierced Blooms dies for this challenge since Jen had made a couple of cards using the dies earlier this month and made me want them with her cute cards. We joke on the FMS team that we are a team of enablers, and this is just one of the many instances where that is true.

I paired the cute die-cut flowers and leaves with the fun sentiment from the Pretty Perennials stamp set and the pretty ombre paper, which is a Sale-a-Bration offering.

I want to thank y’all for your words of encouragement after my post last week describing our recent tough times. Some good news — my husband is out of quarantine and is feeling much better. He lived upstairs for 13 days and I left him trays of food , clean clothes, etc… without really seeing him. We facetimed each night to catch up about what was going on. He didn’t lose his sense of taste nor smell, but he did lose his appetite. He lost 15 pounds while in quarantine! I really did leave him trays of food three times a day, plus snacks! I swear this would only happen to a man! 🙂
