A Sale-a-Bration Hello — Monday Montage #60

Monday Montage Banner -- OctoberWelcome to another Monday Montage blog hop!  We are a group of ten stampers who love to share what we create with you, and all you have to do to follow along is to click on the links at the bottom of each post.

We are now into the first week of the Occasions catalog and Sale-a-Bration.  Woohoo!!  I love this time of year!

Three of the Sale-a-Bration offerings are only available for a short time (until February 15) this year, so be sure you don’t overlook these when ordering.  I used one of these sets, Hello, for my project today.  My daughter has a birthday next month, and I thought I would get a little ahead of the game and make her a card and gift bag.

SAB Ensemble Hello

I paired this stamp set with some fun dsp from the It’s My Party dsp stack, which is available in the Occasions catalog.  These projects use a color scheme of Mint Macaron, Crushed Curry and Melon Mambo.

SAB Hello Card

I started with a Mint Macaron card base, and then embossed the sentiment with White Stampin’ Emboss Powder on a piece of Watercolor Paper.  I then brushed on some Mint Macaron ink to create a washed background.

SAB Hello Card Close Up

A strip of It’s My Party Designer Washi Tape and dsp was layered over the Watercolor Paper.  I then added some of the fun It’s My Party Enamel Dots.

SAB Hello Bag

A Petite Cafe Gift Bag was decorated with some of the It’s My Party dsp, stamps from the Hello set, and It’s My Party Designer Washi Tape across the top.  I finished it off with some Crushed Curry Baker’s Twine and a Clothespin with an In Color Blossom Accent attached.

I hope these projects have you excited about Sale-a-Bration and the Occasions catalog. There are so many great offerings from which to choose!

Hello Teacups — FMS

We took a little break over the holidays, but now we’re back with a new sketch challenge for you at Freshly Made Sketches!  Our hostess this week is Kim Singdahlsen, and she has a fun one for us:

There are some great Sale-a-Bration sets available this year, but there are three items that will only be available until February 15.  And they are some good ones, so make sure you don’t miss out on those.  One of these limited time products is the Hello stamp set.  I LOVE this set!  I love the fun, brushstroke font of the focal stamp and I love the companion sentiments and images that accompany it.  It is such a great set!  And you can get it free with any $50 purchase — this makes it even better!

Hello Tea Cups Close UpI used some of the Have a Cuppa dsp from the Occasions catalog on this card and a Wisteria Wonder card stock layer.  The sentiment was embossed with white embossing powder.   I kept this one really clean and simple.

Hello Tea CupsWe hope you’ll make time to play along with us this week.  We love seeing your interpretation of the sketch.  You can skip over to the Freshly Made Sketches site for a big dose of inspiration from the design team to get you started.

Enjoy your Wednesday!  Thanks for stopping by!

Farewell to #Hello — FMS186

It’s time for another challenge at Freshly Made Sketches.  And this week the lovely Jen Brum is our hostess.  This Canadian is so talented at making such fresh CAS cards.  She always inspires me.  Check out what she has for us:

I love this sketch!  It’s trendy and clean.  I’m continuing to use some of my retiring stamp sets, and I’ve used one of my favorites for this sketch, #Hello.  I have really gotten good use of this set, and I will miss it.

Farewell #hello

I also used some new stuff on this card, including some new dsp, Cherry on Top, which I absolutely LOVE — the colors and patterns are so fun and fresh.  And I’ve used one of the new In-Colors, Watermelon Wonder.  I think I am going to be very good friends with this color.

Farewell #hello close upWe hope you’ll play along and join us this week over at Freshly Made Sketches in the gallery.  Meanwhile, you can go find some inspiration over at the Freshly Made Sketches site and see what the design team made.

Birthday Rock Stars — Monday Montage #40

Monday Montage Banner -- OctoberIt’s time for another Monday Montage Blog Hop, and this week is our 40th hop.  Wow!  I love working with these fun and talented ladies.  To follow along and see the creations of the other stampers, all you need to do is click on the links at the bottom of each post.

Birthday Rock StarsI needed to make a birthday card for one of my teenagers to give to a friend.  I always find those so hard to make.  I pulled out a stamp set that I have loved, #hello, for this card as I think the images are good for this age group.

I used some of the Irresistibly Yours dsp, and took my aquapainter and colored on some Crushed Curry and Tangerine Tango ink to highlight some of the stars around the focal image.  The “@” is stamped with Coastal Cabana ink.

Birthday Rock Stars Close UpI used some white sewing thread to loop behind the focal image and added a strip of die cut stars from the Mini Treat Bag Thinlits Dies set.  The sentiment is embossed with white Stampin’ Emboss Powder on Basic Black card stock.  I scattered some black candy dots, and decided that was enough.

You’re ready to hop on over to Breelin Renwick’s blog for some truly creative inspiration.  If you prefer to work your way backwards, you can venture over to Wendy Weixler’s blog to see her amazing work.  Either way, be sure to work you way through all ten blog posts.

Teen Thanks

Thanks from KMy thirteen year-old daughter needed a thank you card for a friend.  I pulled my #hello set off the shelf and decided to use a favorite color scheme of hers — Crushed Curry, Tangerine Tango, and Bermuda Bay.

Thanks from K close upI used Gorgeous Grunge and Smoky Slate to make the background splatters.  I also added a little button and bow to make it a little “girly”.  The dsp is from the Sale-a-Bration catalog and is called Best Year Ever.

Enjoy your Saturday!  Thanks for stopping by!

Thanks with Heart — FMS160

Are you ready for a new challenge over at Freshly Made Sketches today?  Well, it’s Wednesday and that means we have a new sketch for you to try.  This week our hostess is the oh-so-talented Rita Wright.  I love her blog!  She not only shares her fabulous creations, but also such fun pictures of her beautiful toddler.  Here’s the sketch she made for us this week:

When I saw that big circle for the focal image, I immediately thought of using my #Hello set.  I love this set!  And to think this set wasn’t even on my first order when the annual catalog came out.  It  has turned out to be one of my favorites!  It makes for fast and easy cards, and the images are so fun.

Heart Hello

I paired the stamp with the Flashback dsp.  I love the colors and patterns in this package.

Heart Hello Close upWe hope you’ll join us and make your own card for this sketch.  We always love seeing what’s in the gallery.  Meanwhile, you can see what the rest of the design team made over at the Freshly Made Sketches site.  They are always inspiring.

Enjoy your Wednesday!  Thanks for stopping by!

Birthdays Rock

Birthdays RockI needed a birthday card for a friend yesterday, and I wanted it to be bright and happy.  So I pulled out a couple of stamp sets, not sure what I wanted to use.  I ended up using both of them, which was easier than having to make a decision.

Birthdays Rock Close upThe striped circle and sentiment come from the #hello stamp set (I love this set so much!) and the arrow came from the What’s Up stamp set (which has a coordinating arrow punch).

Enjoy your Tuesday and be sure to come back tomorrow.  I get to host this week’s challenge over at Freshly Made Sketches and I can’t wait to share it with you.  Thanks for stopping by!

It’s Your Birthday — FMS156

Hooray for Wednesday!  Wednesday means it’s time for another sketch at Freshly Made Sketches, and this week the queen of layers and monochromatic loveliness, and overall fabulousness, Narelle Farrugia has a superb sketch for us:

I loved this sketch at first sight!  And I actually pulled my card together pretty quickly.  I knew right away that I wanted to use the #hello stamp set.  I love this set!  I thought I’d keep true to the sketch and use some fun bright colors — Real Red, Hello Honey, Lost Lagoon, and Pool Party to the rescue.

Ampersand BirthdayI even pulled out my sewing machine and added a little wonky stitching because all of that white space made me a little uneasy.

The sentiment comes from a stamp in a previous month’s My Paper Pumpkin kit.

Ampersand Birthday Close UpYou should head on over to the Freshly Made Sketches site to check out what the design team made this week.  I already took a peek, and was amazed as usual.  We hope you’ll play along this week and post your creation to the gallery.  We always love seeing what you make.

Enjoy your Wednesday!  Thanks for stopping by!

Circle of Thanks — FMS153

Hooray for Wednesday!  Wednesdays bring us a new challenge over at the Freshly Made Sketches site, and this week the oh-so-kind and lovely Jen Brum is our hostess.  She is so talented with her CAS style, and she has a great sketch for us this week.

This is a nice, simple sketch which offers so many possibilities.  But for some reason, I really spun my wheels with it.  It took me forever to settle on a stamp set, then it took a long time to pick colors, and then I just couldn’t get happy with my layout.  But I had a deadline and after wasting lots of time, it’s amazing how much I can get done with just fifteen minutes left on the clock when I have to.  🙂

Circle of ThanksI ended up using the #hello stamp set and a color combo of Tempting Turquoise and Rich Razzleberry with a little gold thrown in there.  These are two colors I really like but rarely use anymore, so it was nice to dust those ink pads off a little.

The splatters are from the Gorgeous Grunge set (does it even need to be introduced anymore?), which I embossed with gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder.

Circle of Thanks close upWe would love for you to join us and make your own card for this challenge.  We love looking at all of the cards in the gallery each week.  Meanwhile, head on over to the Freshly Made Sketches site to see what the design team made this week.

Enjoy your Wednesday!  Thanks for stopping by!

Birthdays Rock

I needed to make a birthday card and when I saw the challenge over at The Paper Players this week, I thought it would be fun to play along.

I thought the first column looked right up my alley — I needed a birthday card, I love yellow (and it’s a perfect happy color for birthdays), and I love patterned paper.

Yellow Birthday

I started by selecting a couple of Project Life cards from the Everyday Adventure pack (I love these things!).  I then cut the filmstrip using one of the On Film Framelits dies and stamped the big “@” with a stamp from #Hello.

yellow birthday close UpI added a few little embellishments and I was done.  Pretty easy!

Enjoy your Tuesday!  Thanks for stopping by!
