Hand-Penned Birthday — FMS490

It’s time for another new sketch at Freshly Made Sketches, and this week our hostess is our lovely Canadian friend, Jen Brum. Take a look at her fun sketch:

I needed to make a birthday card for my sweet mom and since she loves flowers, I decided to use a floral set. Hand-Penned Petals bundle to the rescue!

The flowers were colored with alcohol markers and cut out using the coordinating dies. I added a strip of coordinating dsp and cut a piece of Mint Macaron card stock using a scalloped die in the Hand-Penned bundle. Some fun little glittery gems were added as embellishments.

The sentiment is from the Sweet as a Peach stamp set.

We hope you’ll join us and create your own card using the sketch! Meanwhile, be sure to stop by the Freshly Made Sketches site to see what the design team has created for your inspiration.

Enjoy your Wednesday! Thanks for stopping by!

Hand-Penned Birthday — Monday Montage #189

Welcome to another Monday Montage blog hop!  We are a group of stampers who love to share what we create with you, and all you have to do to follow along is click on the links at the bottom of each post.

I needed to make a birthday card for a sweet friend and still had the Hand Penned Petals stamp set on my desk. Rather than color the image I stamped with markers, I decided to use another stamp to color in the images. I love how the set included images to do that for the leaves and flowers separately.

I used a couple of the new In-Colors, Pale Papaya and Soft Succulent, as well as Highland Heather and Daffodil Delight to color the flowers. The flowers were arranged on a piece of Basic White card stock which was cut using one of the new dies in the Scalloped Contours dies collection.

The sentiment is from the Sweet Strawberry stamp set.

You’re ready to hop on over to Breelin Renwick’s blog.  I always love seeing what she makes!  If you prefer to work your way backwards, you can jump back to Wendy Weixler’s blog.  Either way, be sure to work your way through all of the blogs so you don’t miss a thing.

Hand-Penned Mother’s Day — FMS484

It’s time for a new sketch at Freshly Made Sketches, and this week it is my pleasure to be the hostess, which means I get to provide the sketch for the week. I have a very simple collage-style sketch and I think it’s pretty versatile — you don’t have to use a leaf but can use any kind of image you prefer. Take a look:

I needed to make another Mother’s Day card and thought the new Hand-Penned Petals set would work perfectly with the sketch. This bundle has some of the prettiest dsp ever, and I had planned to use it on my Mother’s Day card, but then changed my mind on the dsp at the last minute.

I colored the focal image with my alcohol markers and then cut it out with a coordinating die. I love how the die cuts out those little bits between the leaves. I cut out the scalloped focal panel using a die from the new Scalloped Contours dies. I think I’m just going to leave this set of dies out on my desk because I think I’ll be getting a lot of use out of them!

The sentiment is from the A Wish for Everything stamp set. Some little sparkly gems from the Genial Gems collection were added as embellishments.

We hope you’ll join us and create your own card using the sketch! We love to see what you make as we browse the gallery. Meanwhile, be sure to stop by the Freshly Made Sketches site to see what the design team has created for your inspiration!

Enjoy your Wednesday! Thanks for stopping by!
