Mixed Bunch of Moonlight

Mixed Bunch of MoonlightOh, boy!  We’re getting really close to the release of the new catalog, and I am so ready!  I’ve been working on my wish list (trying to get it to a “reasonable” level) so I’ll be ready to order Monday morning.

Meanwhile, I tried to distract myself with some new dsp from the Moonlight DSP stack, which demonstrators were able to pre-order.  I stamped one of the flowers from the Mixed Bunch set with Blackberry Bliss ink and punched it out.  Purple has always been the most challenging color for me, but I have promised myself that I will use this new in-color.  You may have to hold me accountable.

Mixed Bunch of Moonlight Close UPThe yellow on this card is another new in-color, Hello Honey.  I know I will be using it a lot, as I think it is my favorite of the five new colors.

Enjoy your Saturday!  Thanks for stopping by!

A Square Birthday

Retro Sketches has another great sketch this week.  It’s a square card, and I don’t usually make those so it was fun to do something different.

I used my favorite flower from Mixed Bunch, and stamped it on the white card layer.  I then took a piece of Pool Party card stock, and punched out the flower on one side, embossed it with the Decorative Dots embossing folder (if you don’t have this yet, hurry and get it before Sale-a-Bration ends this week), and used dimensionals to pop it up.

A Square Birthday

When I stamped the flower, I used a mask on the side.  I just sat the Pool Party piece down on the white piece, put a sticky note with the adhesive side right against the Pool Party edge, removed the Pool Party piece and stamped the flower image.  That helped me to keep that nice, clean line on the side.

Enjoy your Sunday!  Thanks for stopping by!

A Bloom with Burplap — PP141

The most talented Anne Marie has a pretty color challenge for us at the Paper Players today.

I must say that I was saddened to hear that Baja Breeze will be retiring in just a few more weeks.  I love that color!

Razzleberry Bloom

I pulled out a couple of products I hadn’t used in a while for this card — the Mixed Bunch stamp set and the Alhambra wheel.  Notice I didn’t use the This and That Epic Day dsp?  See, I do have some self-control.  🙂

Please join us in the challenge at the Paper Players.  Meanwhile, go check out what the other designers made with these fab colors:

Blossom

Blossoming

Here’s a simple card with some colors that I got from a Hungry Jack hashbrowns ad in the Sunday coupon pages.    The logo on the ad really caught my eye because of the color combination used, so I tore it out and saved it until I could make this card.  Sometimes inspiration comes in truly unexpected ways, doesn’t it?

Mixed Bunch of Colors

I totally cased this card from one of Iwona Palomountain’s beautiful cards.  I just changed up the stamps and dies by using Stampin’ Up! products, and I used a different color combination.  I made myself use a purple, Wisteria Wonder, and I very rarely use purple.  I used the Color Coach, and it had Wisteria Wonder, Cherry Cobbler, and Pink Pirouette as a combination — not one I would have ever thought of!

Have a great Wednesday!  Thanks for stopping by!

First Post

Well, I feel like I am one of the last Stampin’ Up! demonstrators to dive into the blogging world.  But I think that I am slowly but surely starting to figure this thing out.

A customer called and asked me to help her with creating a party favor that would be easy and inexpensive to make for a large group of people.  This is what I came up with:
