Toucan Celebration — Monday Montage #158

Welcome to another Monday Montage blog hop!  We are a group of stampers who love to share what we create with you, and all you have to do to follow along is click on the links at the bottom of each post.

It was birthday week in our house the past couple of days — one on the 14th and one today on the 16th.  And both of them are away at college, so we had to celebrate long distance.  My oldest turned 21 today.  Here’s the card I made to mark the occasion.

I started by sponging on some Bermuda Bay ink onto a white card base.  I then splattered on some ink.  The Bonanza Buddies bundle has the cutest pennant dies, which I strung at the top of the card.

I sprinkled on some sequins, which are a Sale-a-Bration offering right now so you can get them for free, and coordinate perfectly with this bundle.  They actually also include some baker’s twine, which I didn’t use on this card, but it also coordinates with this suite.

You’re ready to hop on over to Breelin Renwick’s blog.  I always love seeing what she makes!  If you prefer to work your way backwards, you can jump back to Wendy Weixler’s blog.  Either way, be sure to work your way through all of the blogs so you don’t miss a thing.

Party Lion — FMS 421

It’s time for a new sketch at Freshly Made Sketches, and this week our hostess is our favorite Bostonian-area stamper, Jen Mitchell.  Take a look at this fun sketch:

I needed to make a birthday card and I hadn’t had the opportunity to play with the Birthday Bonanza suite yet, so I figured this was the perfect opportunity.  This is such a fun set!  I loved building these cute birthday animals.

I started by stamping the cute lion.  I love how easy it is to assemble him with the different stamps and the coordinating dies.

I die-cut the tag from Bermuda Bay card stock using one of the coordinating dies.  The tag is actually longer, but it is easy to shorten it to a length you desire.  I embossed the sentiment with white embossing powder.  The coordinating dies also contain these fun banners, which I cut down to fit how I wanted.

I added some sequins from the Sale-a-Bration offering and a fun pompom on his hat.  The paper is from the coordinating Birthday Bonanza DSP collection.

We hope you’ll join us and create your own card using the sketch!  We love to see what you make as we browse the gallery.  Meanwhile, be sure to check out what the design team has created for your inspiration at the Freshly Made Sketches site.

Enjoy your Wednesday!  Thanks for stopping by!
