Yippee Skippee Stars

I love the sketch this week over at CAS(E) this Sketch, so I really wanted to play along and I made a card just for fun.

I still have some of the Sale-a-Bration dsp that I need to use up, and I love the pretty pinkish patterned sheet in the Best Year Ever package.  So that is what I pulled out to start my card.

Yippee Skippee StarsI added a Silver Glimmer Paper star cut out with one of the Stars Framelits Dies and some Calypso Coral stars punched out with the star punch in the Itty Bitty Punch Pack.  I also punched out some circles — one from vellum card stock and one from the Typeset dsp.  I looped some white sewing thread in a crazy pattern, and added some rhinestones and sequins.  The sentiment is from the Yippee-Skippee! stamp set.

Awesome Feathered Thanks — Monday Montage #31

Monday Montage Banner -- OctoberWelcome back for another Monday Montage blog hop!  There are ten different stampers who are excited to share their creations with you.  All you have to do is click on the arrows at the bottom of each post to navigate your way through the hop.

Awesome Feathered ThanksI needed a thank you card and I hadn’t used the Four Feathers stamp set in a while, so I pulled it out.  I paired it with the Yippee-Skippee! sentiment set and used some of the Park Lane dsp.

Awesome Feathered Thanks Close UpI also used a little strip of the Blackberry Bliss Color Me Autumn washi tape at the top of the sentiment banner.  I love using washi tape!  It adds an instant pop of color in such a fun way.

You’re ready to hop on over to the super talented Breelin Renwick’s blog for an instant dose of inspiration.  If you’d rather work your way backwards, you can hop backwards to the always creative Wendy Weixler’s blog.  Either way, make sure to work you way through the other nine blogs so you don’t miss a thing.

Project Life Graduation Card — FMS138

Wednesday is here again!  Boy, do they fly by!  You’re in for a treat this week at Freshly Made Sketches.  The super fabulous Jennifer Timko is our hostess this week and she has a versatile sketch for us.

When I first saw this sketch, I immediately thought of Project Life cards.  That could be because they were sitting on my desk at the time, but I think the rounded corners and the size of them are just perfect for this sketch.  I love how you can use them for more than just scrapbooking.

Project Life Graduation Card

I needed another graduation card, so I punched out some little banners with the Banner punch and added some number stickers that come with the Everyday Adventure Project Life Accessory Pack.  They fit on these little banners perfectly.  I added some sequins to “tie” the banners together.

The “Yippee-Skippee” is from the Yippee-Skippee stamp set, and is really the only stamping on this card.  The colors are Pear Pizzazz, Crushed Curry, Strawberry Slush, and Basic Black.

Project Life Graduation Card Close UpYou should jump on over to the Freshly Made Sketches site for some inspiration from the design team.  There is such a fabulous variety from the team this week, which shows just how versatile this sketch is and just how talented these ladies truly are.

Enjoy your Wednesday!  Thanks for stopping by!

Lots of This and That

Power of TwoI sat down to make a card using up some odds and ends I had around my desk, and this is what I ended up with.  Sometimes it’s just fun to play around with different things and mix and match.

I knew that I definitely wanted to use these wooden people figures on my card (from a My Paper Pumpkin kit), so that was my starting point.  I thought they’d go well with this sentiment from Yippee Skippee.  Then I added some dsp from the I Am Me pack (love this stuff), and some washi tape from the Retro Fresh line.

Power of Two Close UpAnd then I went crazy with a little bit of this and a little bit of that.  Very fun!

Enjoy your Saturday!  Thanks for stopping by!

Textured Speech Bubble Valentines — Monday Montage #12

Monday Montage Banner -- October

Welcome to another Monday Montage blog hop!  Grab yourself something warm to drink, scoot up your chair, and have fun looking through all ten blogs.  All you have to do is click on the “Next” button at the end of each post.

I decided to play with the super fun speech bubbles in the new Word Bubbles Framelits Dies set.  There are several fun shapes in this set, and they coordinate perfectly with the cute Just Sayin’ stamp set.  Rather than use the coordinating stamp set, I chose to play around with negative images in the speech bubbles — more specifically, hearts since it’s getting close to Valentine’s Day.

Textured Speech Bubble HeartsOn this first card, I used the small heart punch and the smallest die in the Hearts Collection Framelits for the negative images.  I also pulled out some Pink Pirouette Core-dinations card stock and used the Decorative Dots embossing folder, which is available only during Sale-a-Bration, and sanded it a little bit.  I wish I’d remember to use this stuff more — I love it!

I Freakin' Love You ValentineOn this next card, I used the Arrows embossing folder on regular Pink Pirouette card stock, and I used the Yippee-Skippee stamp set for the sentiment.  Once I got the Smoky Slate 3/4″ Chevron Ribbon arranged the way I liked, I used a stapler to hold it down, and then covered that with the button.

I think you’re ready to hop on over to Breelin Renwick’s blog to see what awesome creations she’s made this time.  If you prefer to work backwards, you can click the “Back” button and go visit Wendy Weixler’s fabulous blog.  Either way, you should be able to work your way through all of the other nine blogs.
