Hello There Old Favorite and Some Milestone Blog Candy

Today’s post marks my 500th post on this blog.  Wow!  Time flies!  It just doesn’t seem like it’s been that long.  I thought I should give the blog a little bit of an update, so I redesigned the blog header using My Digital Studio and gave it a Spring look.  Easy-peasy!

I decided to pull out an old favorite set that I haven’t used in long time, Betsy’s Blossoms.  I just used some new colors and other new products with it to give it a fresh look.  I still love this set!  The large flower is embossed with gold embossing powder, and I added some other fun gold embellishments as well.

Hello There Old Friend

Since 500 posts deserves something to mark the occasion, I decided some blog candy is in order.  Just leave a comment at the bottom of this post by 4 pm (CST) on Monday, and I’ll randomly pick one winner to receive this:

Blog Candy 3-14

The winner will get a package of Epic Day This and That Designer Washi Tape, a roll of Calypso Coral Ruffled Ribbon, Lucky Limeade Baker’s Twine, and a Cloudy Day  Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.  Please be sure to check back on Tuesday to see if you’ve won, as I’ll need the winner to email me his/her shipping address.

What I have most enjoyed about these past 500 posts is getting to make new friends through my computer.  I love hearing from all of you, and I am so thankful for the comments and support!

Enjoy your Saturday!  Thanks for stopping by!

Another Convention Swap

One of the fun parts of Convention is swapping cards with other demonstrators.  Now imagine 6,000 excited demonstrators in one large space walking around and swapping cards with other demonstrators they don’t know.  It’s a great way to meet people and share great ideas.  Here is one of the cards I made for swapping this year.

Afternoon Picnic Smile

I love the sketch over at Retro Sketches this week, so I knew I wanted to play along.  I just got some of the Afternoon picnic dsp and I love the colors and patterns in it.  It is basically the same as the Tea for Two dsp that was in the Spring catalog — just with different colors, which I love.

Happy Day Love — PP151

The super talented Nance Leedy has a great sketch for us this week at the Paper Players.

I decided to use the Happy Day stamp set and a fun color combination of Daffodil Delight, Bermuda Bay, and Basic Gray.

A Happy Day Frame

I’m kinda hooked on these little Polaroid/Instagram style frames lately.  I saw a cute card made by Brenda Weaver in a Papercrafts magazine, and decided to CASE (copy and share everything) her layout.

I used some sequins that I had left over from a project for one of my girls, and put the little rhinestones in the center of them to cover the holes.

Oh, Happy Day!

It IS a happy day!  Summer vacation is here.  My two oldest children are at church camp, so I get some precious time with my baby (she’s really 8, but she’s still my baby).  And I’ve finished all 24 of my convention display samples. Oh, Happy Day!

Oh, Happy Day

The name of this new stamp set is Happy Day, and I can’t help but break out into song every time I say it.  Anybody else love the song “Happy Day?”

Oh happy day, happy day
You washed my sin away
Oh happy day, happy day
I’ll never be the same
Forever I am changed

This song always makes me smile no matter my mood.  Here’s a link to a Youtube video if you want to hear it.  Please forgive my digression.  At least you can’t hear me singing it!  🙂  I love this stamp set.  Not only does it have two beautiful images, but it has four great sentiments as well.  I think this will be another well used set for me.
