Artisan Finalist Blog Hop — Day 2

2013artisanfinalistA

Welcome!  We’re on day 2 of our Artisan Finalist blog hop.  The ten finalists who were not chosen to be on the design team are sharing our ten projects.

My project today is a scrapbook page.  Scrapbooking was my first love when it came to paper crafting.  I love to do it, but find that I don’t do it very often anymore.  It’s just so much quicker to make a card.  Making the three required scrapbook pages is always my favorite part of this contest.

Artisan Fab Scrapbook PageThis page was actually pretty simple to make.  I just used lots of circle punches.  Punches make everything easier!

Artisan Fab Scrapbook Page Close Up 2I stamped over some of the circles with a stamp from Circle Circus (now retired).  I also added some washi tape to the photo.

Artisan Fab Scrapbook Page Close Up 1This is an older picture of my three kids that we took for a Christmas card one year.  I love this picture of them.

Because I made this page back in May, before the new catalog was released, I have used some retired products (mainly the dsp and buttons).

Now you should hop on over to Breelin Renwick’s blog and see her fabulous creation!  Or you can work your way backwards and visit Wendy Weixler’s page.  Either way, you’re sure to see something beautiful!

Gorgeous Grunge Week

I thought it might be fun to feature one stamp set for the whole week, showing different projects made with this stamp set.  I’m hoping this will show how versatile some stamp sets truly are.  I thought I’d start with the Gorgeous Grunge set.

Gorgeous Grunge Display 1This is a card I made for the Convention display boards.  I used the Designer Typeset Photopolymer set for the speech bubble and sentiment.  The multi-colored stripes were stamped twice with the stripes stamp in the Gorgeous Grunge set and were colored with markers.  I used my 2-Way Glue Pen and some Dazzling Diamonds to add a little sparkle to the splatters.

One of the things that I love about this stamp set is that you can’t really mess up.  If you don’t stamp something straight, it doesn’t matter.  Another thing I love about this set is that there is a great assortment of splatters and messy stripes.

Item # 130517 (clear) $17.95
Item # 130514 (wood) $24.95

Come back tomorrow for a chance to win some blog candy as I mark my first anniversary of blogging.  I’ll have another Gorgeous Grunge project to share as well.

Enjoy your Sunday!  Thanks for stopping by!

Arrows Aplenty

Arrows Aplenty

Here’s a card for you that’s way out of my normal style.  I wanted to play with the new  photopolymer stamps that Stampin’ Up! is offering.  There are a lot of fun arrows in the set and I thought they would be perfect for a congratulations card for my teenage son.

I must say that I really like the clear photopolymer stamps.  I especially love the speech bubble stamp in this set.  There is no need for a stamp-a-ma-jig with these stamps, even when lining up letters of the alphabet.  However, I will say that these tiny little stamps are a little hard to find when you drop them on the carpeting.  So don’t do that.  🙂

Enjoy your Tuesday!  Thanks for stopping by!
