A Summer Silhouettes Collage

I pulled out my Summer Silhouettes stamp set and decided to just make something for fun.

Summer Silhouettes Collage

I started by spritzing a white card base with a mixture of rubbing alcohol and Strawberry Slush re-inker.  Then I stamped the mosaic strip with Basic Gray ink and added some Delicate Details Lace Tape (it’s kinda hard to see in the pictures).  I then added some In Color dsp and Gold Fancy Foil Designer Vellum strips.

I stamped the floral images with Summer Starfruit, Strawberry Slush, and Coastal Cabana ink and then cut them out with my trusty paper snips.  I embossed the sentiment from Four You with Gold Stampin’ Emboss powder.

I added some sequin trim and pearls and then forced myself to stop.  That’s the hardest part!

Enjoy your Friday!  Thanks for stopping by!

Orange Shades of Summer Silhouettes — FMS93

The amazing Allisa Chilton has a great sketch for us this week at Freshly Made Sketches.

I think this is a great all-around sketch!  There are so many stamp sets that one could use with it — which kinda makes it hard, because then you have to choose just one.  I decided to use Summer Silhouettes because it has been a little neglected as of late.

I hope you can join us at Freshly Made Sketches this week.  We’d love to see your card in the gallery.

A Trio of Silhouettes — PP145

Happy Mother’s Day, all you mothers out there!  I hope you are having a special day with those you love most.

It’s time for another color challenge at the Paper Players.  And this is what the ever-talented Jaydee has for us:

I must say that the current year’s in-colors and I are not the best of friends.  I’d say we’re merely acquaintances.  So wouldn’t you know that this is the second color challenge I’ve done in the past couple of days that features colors from this collection.  I guess that maybe I need to get to know them better.

Silhouette Trio

My first thought with these colors was to go a masculine route, but it seems like I’ve been suffering from a floral addiction lately, so I decided to go with the floral theme.  I hadn’t used my Summer Silhouettes set in a while, so I pulled it out and went with a CAS (Clean And Simple) look for today.

Come join us at the Paper Players this week, and check out what the other designers did with these colors:

Neglected Summer Silhouettes — FMS 77

Continuing on with my theme for the week of using neglected stamp sets on my shelf, I am using Summer Silhouettes today.  I also used the sketch at Freshly Made Sketches, by the very talented Jennifer Timko.

This stamp set was one of the first sets I ordered when the catalog came out.  I love it and I used it a few times, and then it was sadly neglected.

Summer Blues

When I saw the sketch, I immediately knew I wanted to use the large Silver Basics Designer Buttons.  I have used up almost all of the small ones, but have had a hard time incorporating the large ones into my projects.   I think they fit well with this sketch.

I hope you can make time to join us in this challenge at Freshly Made Sketches this week.  Go check out what the other designers did with the sketch and then make a project of your own.

Enjoy your Wednesday!  Thanks for stopping by!

Convention Artisan Finalists Swap

While I was at Stampin’ Up’s annual convention last month, I participated in a swap with the other 19 Artisan Finalists.  I was really looking forward to that swap — not only getting 19 great cards, but getting to meet the other ladies.  It was fun, and the cards were fabulous.

I think I spent more time designing this card than I did any of the five cards I entered in the contest.  I didn’t want to embarrass myself, because I knew the others would be so good.  This card turned out to be a little more time intensive than I planned (especially when making 24 of them).  That was mainly due to the doily die and trying to get all of those little holes punched out.  I don’t think I want to use that die again for a long time!  I never seemed to mind the extra time that die required until I had to make 24 of them.  :)It’s fine when making a single card, but watch out when making multiples.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend!  Thanks for stopping by!
