Poinsettia Greetings — FMS566

It’s time for the last sketch of the year at Freshly Made Sketches, and this week it come from the land down under and our masterful fussy cutting floral queen, Narelle Farrugia. Take a look at her fun sketch:

Narelle makes the most beautiful collage-style cards, and this sketch inspired me to try my hand as well. I had an extra poinsettia cut out from the Merriest Moments stamp set and that was the start of my card.

I cut out some of the greenery from the Christmas Banners stamp set and placed it all together on the two die-cut circles.

We hope you’ll join us and create your own card using the sketch. Meanwhile, be sure to stop by the Freshly Made Sketches site to see what the design team has created for your inspiration.

Enjoy your Wednesday! And have a very Merry Christmas! Thanks for stopping by!

Bokeh Banner — FMS563

During this week of Thanksgiving I am reminded of so many things for which I am thankful — my family, good health, a warm home, our church, and many more things, including this team at Freshly Made Sketches. I love the ladies on this team and I’m thankful for all of the people who take part in our weekly challenges. We have another new sketch for you today, and this week our hostess is Jen Brum, our Canadian friend, who is kind and talented — what a wonderful combination! Take a look at her fun sketch:

I wanted to do something a little different instead of using the circle in the sketch. So I pulled out the Christmas Banners stamp set and some dsp from the Lights Aglow pack. I was trying to use something other than a circle but I still ended up with lots of circles on the bokeh dsp. Hmmm….

I started by stamping the banner and embossing it with gold embossing powder and stamping the sentiment with Real Red ink. I stamped the greenery and berries and cut them out with the coordinating dies. All of that was placed on the dsp, which is framed with some gold foil paper and placed on a card base of Evening Evergreen dsp.

Some For Everything Fancy Sequins were added as embellishments. I really love the sparkly ones!

We hope you’ll join us and create your own card using the sketch! Meanwhile, be sure to stop by the Freshly Made Sketches site to see what the design team has created for your inspiration!

Enjoy your Wednesday, and have a wonderful Thanksgiving! Thanks for stopping by!

Christmas Wishes Banner — FMS559

There’s a new sketch up at Freshly Made Sketches. It is provided by our favorite pilot and card maker extraordinaire, Jennifer Timko. Take a look at what she has for us this week:

I hadn’t inked up the Christmas Banners stamp set yet, so I wanted to work it into the sketch.

I started by inking up the banner with Real Red ink and then stamping the sentiment with Garden Green ink. I cut it out with the coordinating die. The greenery also comes from the same stamp set and dies.

The dsp is from the Sweetest Christmas collection.

We hope you’ll join us and create your own card using the sketch! We love to see what you make as we browse the gallery each week. Meanwhile, be sure to stop by the Freshly Made Sketches site to see what the design team has made for your inspiration.

Enjoy your Wednesday! Thanks for stopping by!
