Best Symmetry Day Ever — FMS508

It’s time for another new sketch at Freshly Made Sketches, and this week our hostess is the lovely and talented Jacquie Southas. She has a fun sketch for us. Take a look:

I wanted to use the In Symmetry stamp set for this sketch because I thought it would fill up that big focal panel well. So I pulled out some Fall colors — Merry Merlot, Bumblebee and Mossy Meadow and got to work.

I stamped the images and then cut them out with my paper snips. They are really easy to cut out. I added a piece of old baker’s twine, and placed everything on a Merry Merlot piece of card stock that I cut out with the Scalloped Contours dies. I cut out a piece of white card stock using the same die and just cut off the scallops with my paper trimmer.

The patterned paper is from the coordinating Sweet Symmetry collection.

Slimline Symmetry — FMS504

It’s time for another new sketch at Freshly Made Sketches, and this week our hostess is our favorite Kiwi stamper who is talented at all things card-making but especially coloring, ink-blending, using stencils — like I said — ALL things card making, Karren Johnson. Take a look at her fun slimline sketch:

I had an itch to use the In Symmetry stamp set as I hadn’t used it much yet, and I thought that nice, wide card base would give me plenty of room to use the giant flower that I love.

I stamped the flowers with Flirty Flamingo, Bumblebee and Just Jade inks. Strips of the coordinating dsp were added along the bottom of the card base, which is a piece of Just Jade card stock.

I kept this one very simple. I struggled a while with adding a sentiment. But the stamp set’s name is “In Symmetry”, and I couldn’t figure out where to put a sentiment while keeping the symmetry intact. So the sentiment is going directly in the center of the card — on the inside.

We hope you’ll join us and create your own card using the sketch! We love to see what you make as we browse the gallery each week. Meanwhile, be sure to stop by the Freshly Made Sketches site to see what the design team has created for your inspiration!

You Are Loved — FMS488

We’re back with another new sketch for you over at Freshly Made Sketches, and this week our hostess is the incredible Jen Mitchell. Take a look at the fun sketch she has for us:

I needed to make something really quick as I haven’t had much stamping time lately, and I wanted to use a new set that I hadn’t used yet called In Symmetry. I probably would have skipped right over this stamp set, but when I saw the coordinating dsp which I fell in love with at first sight, the stamp set ended up in my cart too.

Since the dsp is so fabulous, I wanted to make it the star of the show. This is a color palette I adore! I used the dsp as the card base. I then stamped the images in coordinating colors and cut them out with my paper snips.

The sentiment is from a sentiment set called Through it Together. It has lots of uplifting sentiments. I stamped it and embossed it with white embossing powder.

We hope you’ll join us and create your own card using the sketch! We love to see what you make as we browse the gallery each week! Meanwhile, be sure to stop by the Freshly Made Sketches site to see what the design team has created for your inspiration!
