Scallops & Polka Dots (and that tree again)

Easy Layer TreeHere’s an easy Christmas card that wouldn’t be hard to mass produce or mail.  And it has some of my favorite things — scallops, polka dots,  and my favorite little tree.  I copied the layout for this card from one in the annual catalog on page 53.

Have a great Monday!  Thanks for stopping by!

Fun Season’s Greetings

three snowy trees

Here’s a Christmas card with some non-traditional colors for you.  I just felt the need to be inky with some bright and fun colors today.  For the “snow” along the bottom, I just tore a strip of Whisper White card stock, swiped the rough edge with my 2-Way Glue Pen, and sprinkled some Dazzling Diamonds glitter along the edge.

Enjoy your weekend!  We’re putting up our tree and other Christmas decorations here.  Maybe that will help me get in a Christmas frame of mind.  Thanks for stopping by!

Peppermint Pink with a Candy Cane

I think Pink Pirouette is such a pretty pink, and I think it goes so well with the Stampin’ Up reds.  And I love the crisp look of red on white, so that is from where the color combination for this card came.  I kept it clean and simple.

I hope you have a great Monday!  Thanks for stopping by!

Scentsational Christmas Tree

Did I ever tell you that I LOVE the Christmas tree image in the Scentsational Season stamp set? 😉  If you follow my blog, I’m sure you’ve figured that out as I use it a LOT.  For this card I used some scraps from the Festival of Prints Designer Series Paper Stack, and embossed the sentiment with black embossing powder.

O Christmas Tree

I was inspired by this card by Debbie Olson, and decided to make a Stampin’ Up version.  Oh, how I love this cute little tree!

Hope you had a fun Halloween last night!  Here’s a pick of one of my two trick or treaters.  This year my oldest child decided he is too old to go.  That makes me sad (and it makes me feel old  :))!

Enjoy your Thursday!  Thanks for stopping by!

Vanilla Peace

This is a card I made for a swap I participated in this past weekend.  I used two framelits to make the frame — using the larger framelit to cut the card stock, and then placing the smaller framelit on top of the die cut I just cut out to make the frame.  I then pierced the frame using the Festive Paper-Piercing Pack and placed it on the card base using dimensionals.  I stamped the sentiment directly on the card base before adhering the frame.  I used the Big Shot a lot for this card — what would I do without that thing?

Supplies Used:
Stamps:  Scentsational Season, Greetings of the Season
Ink:  Real Red, Gumball Green, More Mustard, Early Espresso
Paper:  Very Vanilla
Embellishments:  Labels Collection framelits, Holiday Collection framelits, Festive Paper-Piercing Pack, Pearl Basics Jewels, Delicate Designs folders, Real Red 1/8″ Taffeta Ribbon

A Cup of Christmas Coacoa

I wanted to play with the sketch challenge over at the Retro Sketches site.  This is a great sketch to use some of your scraps of pretty patterned paper.

When I was trying to decide what to use for my focal image, I decided to combine the Retro Sketches challenge with this week’s challenge at the Paper Players, as I wanted to play along with this challenge too.  The Paper Players challenge is to feature a cup.

So I used the one “cup” image I have, which I happen to love, from the Scentsational Season set in the Holiday catalog.

Enjoy your Wednesday!  Thanks for stopping by!

Christmas Coacoa

I am one of those rare people who doesn’t drink coffee.  In fact, I strongly dislike even the smell of it.  So when I saw this stamp, I decided it must have hot chocolate in it.  At least that way, I can stamp it without wrinkling my nose.  🙂

I made this card using this week’s sketch from Freshly Made Sketches.

When I saw this sketch, I thought it looked like a pretty easy sketch.  But I just couldn’t get happy with anything I tried.  Finally, I came up with this and decided to call it a day.  Some days are like that, aren’t they?

I hope you have a great Friday!  Thanks for stopping by!

I Couldn’t Help It

I mentioned a couple of days ago that I’ve had my pre-order of Christmas stamps for a couple of months now, and they’ve been patiently waiting for attention.  Well, I couldn’t help but make a Christmas card today because this set, Scentsational Season, is so cute.  I love all of the images in it, and when you consider that there are matching framelits, well…I couldn’t help it, but I had to use them today.

For the green polka dot frame, I used one of the Window Frames Collection framelits on both ends of the paper.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend.  Thanks for stopping by!
