Hello Layered Flower

Hello Layered Flower

Here’s a quick and easy card for you today.  I took a sheet from the Neutrals DSP Stack and embossed the sentiment from Four You (a go-to set for me) with Black Stampin’ Emboss Powder.  I then stamped flowers from Flower Shop and Petite Petals on Strawberry Slush card stock, and punched them out with their coordinating punches.

I added a button and white baker’s twine, and called it a day.  Sometimes when you only have fifteen minutes to stamp, you’ve got to make it quick and easy.  That’s one of the things I love about punches.

A Mother’s Day Card

It’s time to get those Mother’s Day cards in the mail.  I had to make one more yesterday and I decided to use the new sketch over at Retro Sketches.

I went through my stamps and couldn’t find but one small stamp for Mother’s Day.  I completely forgot about the stamp that was included in the last My Paper Pumpkin Kit, and it would have been perfect!  When I can’t find exactly what I’m looking for, I go to MDS and use the search function.  I found a great stamp there from the All Holidays download.  I colored it the colors I wanted and printed it out on Whisper White card stock.  Easy Peasy!

Mom's Day copyI started by stamping the Dictionary background stamp on Smoky Slate card stock with Versamark ink.  Then I stamped the pretty flourish from Everything Eleanor with Crushed Curry ink over it.

Mom's Day Close UpI stamped three flowers with the Petite Petals stamp set and punched them out with their coordinating punch, and then punched out three little flowers using the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack and layered them on top.  I added some ribbon and Gold Sequin Trim on top, and layered a Regals button on that.

Have a great Monday!  Thanks for stopping by!

Hey There Tag

Hey There Tag

I decided to play around with some Gesso again today.   I used some Daffodil Delight ink with the Positively Chevron background stamp.  To tone it down a bit, I took a paint brush and applied a thin layer of Gesso over it, covering some areas a little more than others.  Not only does it tone down the bright color, but it also adds some cool texture.

Then I made the tag using some leftover card stock from the fabulous Hip Hip Hooray Card Kit.  The Melon Mambo flower is from the Petite Petals stamp set, punched out with the coordinating punch.  The sentiment was embossed and is from a My Paper Pumpkin kit.  I love the fonts used on this sentiment.  The Island Indigo flowers are punched using the Boho Blossoms punch.  I also used the Little Leaves Sizzlits die for the leaves again.

Playing with Petite Petals — Monday Montage #15

Monday Montage Banner -- October

We’re back with another Monday Montage Blog Hop for you this evening.  There are ten of us participating, so just click on the buttons at the bottom of each post to follow along and work your way through each post.

I recently got the Petite Petals stamp set.  Unfortunately, the coordinating punch is on back order, so I’m still waiting to receive it.  I just did things the old fashioned way — cut out the flowers by hand.  I don’t mind that though.  Cutting is a little therapeutic for me.  I think just about all things paper-crafting related are therapeutic for me!

I kept both of my cards for today super simple.  My kids have been on Spring Break this week, so my stamping time has been very limited.  I love cards with lots of layers and embellishments, but sometimes I love simple cards too.

Thinking of Petite Petals

I found that Little Leaves Sizzlits die in my supplies a couple of weeks ago, and now I can’t seem to stop using it.  I’ve used it on both cards today.  I LOVE this sheet of Watercolor Wonder dsp.  It adds a little bit of interest to an otherwise neutral background.

Thanks for Petite Petals

On this card, I wanted the chevron background but I wanted to mute it a little bit, so I brushed on some Gesso with a paintbrush to tone it down just a little.  If you could reach through your computer and touch it, you’d find that this adds a nice texture as well.
