Good Thoughts — FMS183

It’s time for another challenge at Freshly Made Sketches.  This week the crazy talented Linda Callahan, who has the best sense of humor (though she might not have it right now while her home is undergoing a kitchen remodel — ;)), is our hostess.  And I can’t wait to see what y’all do with this one.

I made this card before Stampin’ Up! released the retirement list.  When I saw that Too Kind was included on the list yesterday, I was so sad.  I love this set!  Which ones are you going to miss most?

I decided I need to use the retiring In-Colors as much as possible before June arrives, so I used one for this card.  These In-Colors are my favorite ones that they’ve ever had.  I am really going to miss Coastal Cabana, Strawberry Slush and Crisp Cantaloupe.  I can’t wait to see what the new In-Colors will be!

Too KindI used a color combination of Crisp Cantaloupe, Blushing Bride, and Old Olive.  A couple of strips of washi tape are on the bottom of the card.

Too Kind Close UpWe hope you’ll join us and make your own card using the sketch this week.  You can go by the Freshly Made Sketches site and see what the design team made for some inspiration.  They always inspire me!

Enjoy your Wednesday!  Thanks for stopping by!06

Too Kind for Watercoloring

Too Kind for Watercoloring

I pulled out my Too Kind stamp set yesterday and decided to play with a watercoloring technique.  I took a piece of watercolor card stock and spritzed it with some water.  I then inked up my stamps and spritzed them with a little water before stamping.  It gives a blurry watercolored effect.

Too Kind for Watercoloring CloseUpI then took my aquapainter and added a little bit of Soft Sky ink around the flowers.  It’s very subtle.

I used a new in-color on this card.  The base is Lost Lagoon.  I think it’s such a pretty and unique color.  The other colors are Strawberry Slush, Mossy Meadow (another new in-color), and Crushed Curry.

Enjoy your Tuesday!  Thanks for stopping by!

Watercolor Sympathy

Watercolor SympathyI needed to make a sympathy card for a friend, and I tend to lean towards floral stamp sets when I have to do that.  I pulled out the 2-step stamping set, Too Kind.  I love the effect that 2-step stamping provides.  For this card, I stamped the bottom floral layer off on scratch paper first before stamping it on the Watercolor Wonder dsp, and then stamped the top floral layer with full-strength Crisp Cantaloupe ink.

I also pulled out the Framed Tulips embossing folder.  I haven’t used it in a really long time — not sure why I haven’t, but it makes a great frame for this image.  The sentiment is from a hostess set, Simply Sketched.

Enjoy your Sunday!  Thanks for stopping by!

Too Kind Thanks

Too Kind Customer ThanksI needed a thank you card, and I hadn’t used the Too Kind set in a while, so I pulled it out.  AND I even used purple — shocking, I know!  It wasn’t too hard to overcome my fear of this color as it is used in the Afternoon Picnic dsp collection, and I love this dsp.

Enjoy your Saturday!  Thanks for stopping by!

A Glittery Kindness

Glittered Too Kind

The Too Kind stamp set wasn’t even on my wish list until I saw some amazing cards made with it from some of my stamping friends.  Aren’t we bloggers such good enablers?

I’ve been using Strawberry Slush and Coastal Cabana so much lately (love those two In Colors) that I’ve been ignoring the other three In Colors.  I decided I needed to rectify that situation immediately.

I’m coming back from Convention today and I had a wonderful time.  It’s always good to be back home again though.  I’ll have more to share about Convention soon, including lots of projects I made for the display boards, which I can now share.

Enjoy your Sunday!  Thanks for stopping by!
