Bloom for You — FMS325

It’s time for a new sketch over at Freshly Made Sketches, and this week it’s my turn to provide the sketch.  I’ve used some shapes in this sketch (a star and a circle), but of course you can use any shape you prefer.

I’ve had the itch to color with the Stampin’ Blends markers lately, so I pulled out a stamp set that hasn’t seen ink in a while but I thought would be perfect for coloring.

This flower from Birthday Blooms is such a fun flower to color.  I fussy-cut it and placed it on half of a doily.  The striped dsp is from the Petal Passion collection.

We hope you’ll join us and create your own card using the sketch.  I’m really looking forward to seeing what everyone does with the sketch.  Meanwhile, be sure to stop by the Freshly Made Sketches site to see what the design team has created for your inspiration.  I love all of their different interpretations of this sketch.

Enjoy your Wednesday!  Thanks for stopping by!

Birthday Blooms Blessing — FMS231

Another Wednesday…another sketch at Freshly Made Sketches!  And this week our fabulously talented friend from New Zealand, Karren Johnson, is our hostess.  Look at this fun sketch that she has for us:

One of my favorite stamp sets in the Occasions Catalog is Birthday Blooms.  I love the sentiments and the flower stamps are absolutely gorgeous.  And I just haven’t used it enough.  So I pulled it off my shelf and had some fun watercoloring.

Birthday Bloom BlessingI stamped the image on Shimmery White cardstock and watercolored with Blushing bride, Watermelon Wonder, Mossy Meadow, and Old Olive ink using an aquapainter.  I applied some Gold Wink of Stella Glitter on the flower center.

A strip of Birthday Bouquet dsp is angled to the side, and the sentiment is from the Rose Wonder stamp set.  I embossed it on Basic Black cardstock with White Stampin’ Emboss Powder.

Birthday Bloom Blessing Close UpI think I am going to save this one and stamp Happy Mother’s Day on the inside of the card for my mom.

We hope you’ll join us and play along with the challenge.  We love seeing what you create in the gallery!  Meanwhile, be sure to hop on over to the Freshly Made Sketches site for a big dose of creative inspiration from the design team.

Blooms Note — FMS224

It’s Wednesday again, and that means we have another sketch for you over at Freshly Made Sketches.  This week, our hostess is our lovely and talented pilot friend, Jennifer Timko.  And you will love her versatile sketch this week:

I felt like doing a little watercoloring, so I pulled out the Birthday Blooms stamp set.

Blooms Note

I used some Blushing Bride, Calypso Coral, Pear Pizzazz, Old Olive, Soft Sky and Crushed Curry inks to color the image on watercolor paper using an aquapainter.

The tiny scalloped edge on the side was cut from Basic Black card stock with the Tiny Wave Stampin’ Trimmer Rotary Cutting Blade.

I also applied some gold Wink of Stella onto the flower center to add a little sparkle.  The sentiment is from the Picture Perfect set.

Love You Birthday Blooms — Stampin’ Up! Artisan Blog Hop

Welcome to another Stampin’ Up! Artisan Design Team Blog Hop!  There are 20 of us from around the globe who will be sharing our projects with you twice each month.  All you need to do to follow along is click on the link at the bottom of each post.

With Valentine’s Day being less than two weeks away, I’ve been focusing on cards and gifts for this occasion.  I wanted to make something pretty and feminine for my mother-in-law, so I pulled out my Birthday Blooms stamp set and made a square card, just to be a little different.

Love You Birthday BloomsI colored the image with an aquapainter and Watermelon Wonder and Old Olive inks.  I used the gold Wink of Stella  Glitter Brush for the center of the flower to add some fun shimmer.  After I hand cut the flower, I placed it on top of a die-cut heart using the Bloomin’ Heart Thinlits Die.

These layers were placed on top of a layer of the Fancy Foil designer vellum paper.  I attached some Gold 1/8″ Ribbon and Gold Sequin trip with a Bow Paper Clip Embellishment.

The sentiment was stamped on Basic Black card stock with Versamark ink and embossed with white Stampin’ Emboss Powder.  It comes from the Bloomin’ Love stamp set.
