Vintage Christmas — FabFri33

Here we are with our last Fab Friday challenge of the year.  And we have a fun sketch challenge for you.

I decided to try to make a Christmas card with a vintage feel to it.  I love that look, but find it hard to make.  I pulled out my dusty Layered Labels set and stamped the beautiful bottom layer with the Gold Encore ink and went from there.

It’s a Black Fab Friday — FabFri32

It may be Black Friday here in the U.S., but it’s also a Fab Friday.  I much prefer participating in Fab Friday over Black Friday!  You won’t find me out shopping today!  We have a fun color challenge for you today, so if you decide to take a break from shopping, we hope you’ll play along with us.

I saw a card made by Dawn McVey that I really wanted to turn into a Stampin’ Up! card.  I love her style, and cased this card of  hers.  I used the Wishing You stamp set, and a mix of dsp patterns.

It’s another Fab Friday!  And we have a great sketch challenge for you this time around.

Halloween Pics and Felt Fall Leaves — FabFri30

It’s time for another Fab Friday challenge!  And this week we have a fun color challenge for you:

I love these Fall colors!  I could use them year round and be quite happy.  I also used the sketch over at The Paper Players.  Isn’t this a fun sketch?  So many possibilities!

I hadn’t used some of my felt in a while, and I love the look of felt leaves, so I decided to go that route.  The Big Shot cuts felt so beautifully.

I hope you can play along with us during the next two weeks at Fab Friday.  We love to see your creations!  You can also see what the other designers made at the site too.

We had a fun Halloween night last night!  Here are a couple of pictures of my trick or treaters.  My youngest was Catwoman and the dog (Maggie) was Batman.  My middle child was a Hogwarts student.  I always love seeing all of the kids dressed up in their costumes.

Creepy, Crawly Chevrons — FabFri

It’s a Fab Friday day today!  And we have a sketch challenge for you:

I love this sketch, but for some reason it gave me fits!  I tried many different ideas for this card and was just about ready to throw in the towel because I wasn’t liking the way any of them were turning out.  Then I stepped away and when I came back I decided I was trying to make it too hard by trying to be creative.  So I just copied the sketch exactly like it is, and voila, I finally had a card.  Whew!  Creativity is just hard on some days!

Creepy, Crawly Halloween Treat Sack — FabFri28

Wow!  It’s already time for another Fab Friday challenge.  And this time around we have a fun color challenge for you:

Since this one just screamed Halloween to me, I decided to just go with it.  I love making little Halloween treats, so that is what I decided to make for this challenge.  The little Mini Muslin Bags are such a great size to hold bite-size candies and little treats.  And they’re so fun to decorate!

Creepy Crawly Treat SackUsing the stencils in the Build a Banner Simply Created Kit, I sponged Rich Razzleberry ink to make the polka dots on the bag.  It was pretty quick and I love how this allows you to decorate the bags with any color scheme you choose.

Go by the Fab Friday blog and check out what the other designers made with the colors in this week’s challenge.  And then make your own project and share it with us.  You have two weeks!

Enjoy your Friday!  Thanks for stopping by!

Four Square Butterflies — FabFri27

This time around, we have a sketch challenge for you at the Fab Friday site:

I always struggle with sketches like this.  I never know what to put in all of those little boxes.  I decided to pull out my butterfly punches because I’m starting to get wrapped up in Fall and Christmas themed projects, and I still have some Summer themed products that haven’t gotten enough love yet.

Four ButterfliesI used the Positively Chevron background stamp with clear embossing powder to make the card base.  I love this technique for making subtle, yet striking backgrounds.  I even pulled out my sewing machine to do some crazy stitching on the Hearts a Flutter pennants.  The butterflies are punched with Afternoon Picnic dsp and coordinating card stock.

I hope you’ll be able to join in this challenge at Fab Friday.  You should swing by and see what the other designers did with all of those squares on the sketch.
