Four Square Butterflies — FabFri27

This time around, we have a sketch challenge for you at the Fab Friday site:

I always struggle with sketches like this.  I never know what to put in all of those little boxes.  I decided to pull out my butterfly punches because I’m starting to get wrapped up in Fall and Christmas themed projects, and I still have some Summer themed products that haven’t gotten enough love yet.

Four ButterfliesI used the Positively Chevron background stamp with clear embossing powder to make the card base.  I love this technique for making subtle, yet striking backgrounds.  I even pulled out my sewing machine to do some crazy stitching on the Hearts a Flutter pennants.  The butterflies are punched with Afternoon Picnic dsp and coordinating card stock.

I hope you’ll be able to join in this challenge at Fab Friday.  You should swing by and see what the other designers did with all of those squares on the sketch.

Enjoy your Friday!  Thanks for stopping by!

Supplies Used:
Stamps:  Positively Chevron, Lots of Thanks
Ink:  Versamark, Basic Gray
Paper:  Very Vanilla, Basic Gray, Coastal Cabana, Wisteria Wonder, Crushed Curry, Afternoon Picnic dsp
Embellishments:  Hearts a Flutter framelits, Bitty Butterfly punch, Elegant Butterfly punch, Itty Bitty Shapes punch pack, Pearl Basic Jewels, Clear Stampin’ Emboss Powder

  1. Love this Amy!! I love how you used that banner from the Hearts a Flutter framelits – gives a more interesting shape. And, I love the background (I finally got that stamp and haven’t used it yet) and the stitching. Great card!

  2. Well, you HIT this one outta the park! I didn’t see ANY trouble with the sketch! Beautiful! Made me post a comment and I don’t do that very often!
