Can’t Say Thanks Enough

I love a lot of the sentiments in the Lots of Thanks stamp set.  Sometimes it’s not enough to just say “thank you.”  That’s why I really love the stamp which I used on this card.

Can't Say Thanks EnoughI needed to mail this one, so I wanted to keep it nice and flat.  It really just has stamping, plus a little paper piercing on the side.

Can't Say Thanks Enough Close UpThe fun doodle-y borders are from the Boutique Borders stamp set.  I used Hello Honey, Strawberry Slush, and Bermuda Bay for the colors.

Enjoy your Tuesday!  Thanks for stopping by!

An Eclectic Collage — FMS140

It’s Wednesday again!  And the super fun and wildly talented Linda Callahan has a fabulous sketch for us over at Freshly Made Sketches:

One of the stamp sets that I used to make convention display samples was Kinda Eclectic.  I made eight projects with it, and even after finishing all of them I still didn’t want to put this set away.  So I decided to use it for this sketch.  I ended up taking some major creative liberties with the sketch, but I hope it still looks true to the sketch.

FMS EclecticThis is one of those stamp sets in which I truly love every single stamp.  And I love how easy it is to combine all of the images.

I used a color combination of Coastal Cabana, Daffodil Delight, and Tangelo Twist.  The sentiment is from Lots of Thanks.

FMS Eclectic Close UpOne way I know I’m getting old is that my eyesight isn’t what it used to be.  It took me about three projects before I realized that there was writing on the polka dot strips.  So there is a right way and an upside down way to stamp this image.  Be warned!

Next month, after convention, I can share the other eight projects I made with this set.  However, I’m sure I’ll be using it again before then.

Be sure to go by the Freshly Made Sketches site and check out what the rest of the team made with the sketch.  And then play along with us and post your own card to the gallery.  We love seeing what you make!

Enjoy your Wednesday!  Thanks for stopping by!

Lot of Bright Thanks — FMS139

Happy Wednesday!  This is the last week of school here, and we can almost taste summer vacation.  Just a couple more days of those pesky finals for my high schooler and middle schooler, and a fun field day and end of the year party for my third grader.  Woohoo!  I love having the kids home for the summer!

Meanwhile, we have another great sketch for you this week over at Freshly Made Sketches.  Out hostess is the always clever and creative Rita Wright.  And she is giving us the opportunity to play with tags this week.  I don’t know about you, but I love making tags.

My daughter needed a card for a beloved principal who will be moving to lead another IB (International Baccalaureate) school in Nicaragua this summer.  She told me she wanted to write him a note, but didn’t know what to say because her heart was so full.  It made me think of a sentiment in the Lots of Thanks stamp set.

Say It AllHer favorite colors are yellow, orange and blue, so those are the colors I chose for the card. I stamped the sentiment on one of the Project Life Everyday Adventure cards.  I cut it down a tad to make it more tag-size.

I punched the little stars with one of the new Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack punches and added some rhinestones.  The dsp is from the Kaleidoscope dsp pack, which is retired now but I haven’t gotten my order of new stuff yet, so there you go.  I also used the fun Arrows Embossing folder.

Say It All Close UpWe hope you’ll join us and make your own card with the sketch this week.  Hop on over to the Freshly Made Sketches site for some inspiration from the other designers.

Enjoy your Wednesday!  Thanks for stopping by!

Playing with Petite Petals — Monday Montage #15

Monday Montage Banner -- October

We’re back with another Monday Montage Blog Hop for you this evening.  There are ten of us participating, so just click on the buttons at the bottom of each post to follow along and work your way through each post.

I recently got the Petite Petals stamp set.  Unfortunately, the coordinating punch is on back order, so I’m still waiting to receive it.  I just did things the old fashioned way — cut out the flowers by hand.  I don’t mind that though.  Cutting is a little therapeutic for me.  I think just about all things paper-crafting related are therapeutic for me!

I kept both of my cards for today super simple.  My kids have been on Spring Break this week, so my stamping time has been very limited.  I love cards with lots of layers and embellishments, but sometimes I love simple cards too.

Thinking of Petite Petals

I found that Little Leaves Sizzlits die in my supplies a couple of weeks ago, and now I can’t seem to stop using it.  I’ve used it on both cards today.  I LOVE this sheet of Watercolor Wonder dsp.  It adds a little bit of interest to an otherwise neutral background.

Thanks for Petite Petals

On this card, I wanted the chevron background but I wanted to mute it a little bit, so I brushed on some Gesso with a paintbrush to tone it down just a little.  If you could reach through your computer and touch it, you’d find that this adds a nice texture as well.

You’re ready to hop on over to Breelin Renwick’s blog by clicking the “Next” button below.  She always inspires me, and I love looking at her blog.  If you’d rather work your way backwards, you can go visit Wendy Weixler’s blog.  Her creativity is always impressive and I always say, “Wow!” when I look at her blog.

Four Square Butterflies — FabFri27

This time around, we have a sketch challenge for you at the Fab Friday site:

I always struggle with sketches like this.  I never know what to put in all of those little boxes.  I decided to pull out my butterfly punches because I’m starting to get wrapped up in Fall and Christmas themed projects, and I still have some Summer themed products that haven’t gotten enough love yet.

Four ButterfliesI used the Positively Chevron background stamp with clear embossing powder to make the card base.  I love this technique for making subtle, yet striking backgrounds.  I even pulled out my sewing machine to do some crazy stitching on the Hearts a Flutter pennants.  The butterflies are punched with Afternoon Picnic dsp and coordinating card stock.

I hope you’ll be able to join in this challenge at Fab Friday.  You should swing by and see what the other designers did with all of those squares on the sketch.

Enjoy your Friday!  Thanks for stopping by!
