It’s Still Fall, Right? — Monday Montage #152

Welcome to another Monday Montage blog hop!  We are a group of stampers who love to share what we create with you, and all you have to do to follow along is click on the links at the bottom of each post.

We had a blast of winter for a week or two, but I think Fall is back in Texas this week.  I’m so thankful because I love Fall and don’t really like temperatures below 50 degrees.  With the return of Fall, I wanted to set the Christmas themed products aside and use the Gather Together bundle again.

I started by die-cutting the leaves from some Crushed Curry, Pumpkin Pie, Crumb Cake, Early Espresso, and Cajun Craze card stock.  The little sprigs were cut from Merry Merlot card stock using the Flourish thinlits.

I made a card base of Very Vanilla card stock and applied a piece of Come to Gather dsp.  A sentiment from an old favorite Paper Pumpkin set was stamped with Merry Merlot ink, and some splatters were added for interest.  Since I am mailing this card, I didn’t add much in the way of embellishments other than a bow made from linen thread.

You’re ready to hop on over to Breelin Renwick’s blog.  I always love seeing what she makes!  If you prefer to work your way backwards, you can jump back to Wendy Weixler’s blog.  Either way, be sure to work your way through all of the blogs so you don’t miss a thing.

Grateful for Family — Monday Montage #149

Welcome to another Monday Montage blog hop!  We are a group of stampers who love to share what we create with you, and all you have to do to follow along is click on the links at the bottom of each post.

Not having water colored in a long time, I decided it would be fun to pull out my brushes and color the large leaf in the Gather Together stamp set.  Since I haven’t been stamping much lately, I went with a favorite layout to make things easy.

I used Cajun Craze, Pumpkin Pie and Mango Melody inks to color the leaf.  I started by embossing the leaf first by stamping Versamark ink on my stamp and then stamping Early Espresso ink over it before applying clear embossing powder to the stamped image and heat setting it.

Keeping it super simple I added a little linen thread as an embellishment.  The sentiment is from the stamp set included with the August Paper Pumpkin kit.

The Paper Players is having a Theme Challenge this week, and it helped me in choosing my sentiment for this card.

Copper Tipped Leaves — FMS405

It’s time for another new sketch at Freshly Made Sketches.  And this week our hostess is our talented friend, Judy Rozema.  Take a look at this fun sketch:

While I still had my Gather Together bundle out on my desk, I decided to make another card with it.  I thought the three leaves in the die set would work well for the three squares in the sketch.

I die cut the leaves from Cherry Cobbler, Soft Suede and Cajun Craze card stock.  I then lightly rubbed parts of the leaves with some Versamark ink and then sprinkled on some Copper embossing powder.  The leaves were placed on a sheet from the same suite and some sequins were scattered as embellishments.

We hope you’ll join us and create your own card using the sketch.  Meanwhile, be sure to stop by the Freshly Made Sketches site to see what the design team has created for your inspiration.

Enjoy your Wednesday!  Thanks for stopping by!

Gather Thanks — FMS404

It’s Wednesday and that means it’s time for a new sketch at Freshly Made Sketches.  And this week it is my pleasure to serve as the hostess.

Fall is such a short season where I live.  Summer is LONG…  So even though it doesn’t feel like Fall here yet, I want to play with my Fall stamps.  I love Fall and all of the Fall products, so I guess I just need to light a pumpkin scented candle and turn the A/C down to make it even cooler in the house and maybe I can fool myself into feeling like it’s Fall.  😉

I started by die-cutting some leaves using the Gathered Leaves dies.  I took a tip from the Holiday catalog and spritzed my card stock with water before die-cutting the leaves.  I think it added a little depth and a little color variation.  I stamped the pumpkin from Gather Together with Cajun Craze ink and then colored it in with my alcohol markers.

The paper is from the Come to Gather dsp pack.  The card stock is Very Vanilla.

We hope you’ll join us and create your own card using the sketch!  We love to see what you make as we browse the gallery each week.  Meanwhile, be sure to see what the design team has created for your inspiration at the Freshly Made Sketches site.

Enjoy your Wednesday!  Thanks for stopping by!
