Spreading Some Valentine Love — Monday Montage #183

Welcome to another Monday Montage blog hop!  We are a group of stampers who love to share what we create with you, and all you have to do to follow along is click on the links at the bottom of each post.

With Valentine’s Day just around the corner, I thought I’d share some of the Valentine’s Day love I’m going to share with my family. Included in the care packages I’ll be sending my two college kiddos will be a card and of course some candy.

I love the adorable Snail Mail designer series paper! And when I saw how well it worked with the January Paper Pumpkin kit, I knew I wanted to create a card for my daughter with it. Her favorite color is yellow, so even though it isn’t a traditional color for Valentine’s Day, that is what I went with.

I sponged some Daffodil Delight ink onto the background and then stamped the “xoxo”s with the same ink color. That stamp is from the Paper Pumpkin kit, as is the sentiment. I cut out the heart, envelopes and snail from the Snail Mail dsp. And then I added some googly eyes to the snail for fun. Three little Resin Hearts Embellishments were added to give it some more pops of red and strengthen the Valentine’s theme.

The Paper Players has a fun theme challenge this week. I thought this card would fit in with the hearts part of the theme.

I have one kid who loves peanut M&Ms. I put some of them in a pillow box, which is now retired, but I still had a few on hand. Using the Always dies, I decorated a Cherry Cobbler heart to attach to the pillow box. The ribbon is from the January Paper Pumpkin kit, and I attached a little heart charm to it.

Another kid loves jelly beans, so I found some heart shaped jellies and put them in one of the Love You Always Treat Boxes. I wrapped one of the Flower & Field dsp sheets around it that I thought looked the most Valentine-y. This dsp is one of the current Sale-a-Bration offerings and is so pretty!

Here’s another treat box decorated with a different sheet of this dsp and uses the Heartfelt stamp set.

Heartfelt Valentine — FMS467

Well it’s a new year and we’re back with a new sketch for you over at Freshly Made Sketches. This week our hostess is CAS card maker extraordinaire, Jen Mitchell. Take a look at this fun sketch:

I hadn’t made a slim line card in a long time, so I was excited to see this sketch. My card base is 8-1/2″ x 3-1/2″. I thought I’d make a Valentine’s card and since I don’t have any of the new mini catalog products yet, I pulled out an older set that’s in the annual catalog, Heartfelt.

I started by stamping the arrows in different colors of ink and punched out the large heart from a piece of dsp from the Playing with Patterns collection. The smaller hearts were stamped and embossed with an image from the Heartfelt stamp set.

The sentiment was die-cut using a die from the Word Wishes collection. And the word stamps are from the Well Said stamp set.

We hope you’ll join us and create your own card using the sketch! We love to see what you make as we browse the gallery each week! Meanwhile, be sure to stop by the Freshly Made Sketches site to see what the design team has created for your inspiration!

Enjoy your Wednesday! Thanks for stopping by!

Tiny Little Heartfelt Valentine — FMS420

It’s time for our last sketch for the month of January at Freshly Made Sketches.  Yes, we’ve almost completed the first month of the year and February is just around the corner.  Our hostess this week is the talented and lovely Jennifer Timko, and she has a fun one for us.  Take a look:

I decided I’d better get busy with making some Valentines since it is getting close to that time.  I love the whole From My Heart suite in the mini catalog, and decided to go the easy route with some little Valentine cards to stick in gifts for that day.

This is a little 3″ x 3″ card.  I started by stamping and embossing the arrow.  I then used the two coordinating heart punches in the Heart Punch Pack to punch out the scalloped heart on the bottom layer and the pretty patterned heart on the top layer from two sheets of the From My Heart Specialty Designer Series Paper.  These papers have pretty foil accents in pink and red.

The sentiment is from another stamp set called Flourishing Phrases.  I added a little bow made with white twine and called it a day.

We hope you’ll join us and create your own card using the sketch!  We love to see what you make as we browse the gallery each week.  Meanwhile, be sure to stop by the Freshly Made Sketches site for some inspiration from the design team.

Enjoy your Wednesday!  Thanks for stopping by!
