Hello Collage — Monday Montage #66

Monday Montage Banner -- October

Welcome to another Monday Montage blog hop!  We are a group of ten stampers who love to share what we create with you, and all you have to do to follow along is to click on the links at the bottom of each post.

Now that the sun is out in force again here and everything is turning green, I am getting Spring Fever.  I think that is carrying over into my stamping life too, as I keep pulling out Spring colors and floral sets when I set down to create.

I had some of the little flowers from the Circle of Spring set colored and cut out on my desk that were leftover from another project, and they were just waiting to be used.  So as I looked around, I kept pulling out different products that I thought might pair well with them.  Before I knew it, I had used all sorts of things to make a collage with these happy flowers.

Hello CollageI started by misting a mixture of Pool Party ink and rubbing alcohol onto a piece of Color Me Irresistible dsp.  That added just a little bit of soft color for the background.  The yellow circles were made with Daffodil Delight ink and a stamp from the Memories in the Making stamp set.  I cut out some Pear Pizzazz leaves with a die from the Rose Garden Thinlits collection and used a few strands from the White 1-1/4″ Jute Ribbon.

Hello Collage Close UpI added a Calypso Coral butterfly from Butterfly Basics and a sentiment from the Greetings Thinlits Dies.  And now I have a mess of things to put away on my desk!  🙂

You’re ready to hop on over to Breelin Renwick’s blog.  I always love seeing what she makes!  If you prefer to work your way backwards, you can jump back to Wendy Weixler’s blog.  Either way, be sure to work your way through all of the blogs so you don’t miss a thing!

A Quilted Sunburst

Happy New Year!  I hope you’re enjoying your 2016 so far.  We have had a relaxing and fun two weeks of vacation at our house, and are a little sad that we had to go back to the real world today.  The kids still have one last day of vacation today, but they go back to school tomorrow.

I got to play with some of the new Occasions catalog goodies the past couple of days.  One that I was eager to break out was the Sunburst Thinlits die.  It reminded me a little of an old quilt pattern of my grandmother, who made many, many beautiful quilts during her lifetime, so I went in that direction for my first card with this die.

Quilted SunburstI used some of the pretty papers from the new Have a Cuppa Designer Series Paper Stack.  I love the colors and cheery patterns in it.  I also used one sheet (the green one) from the Cherry on Top dsp stack.

I started by sponging on some Crushed Curry ink onto a Whisper White card base.  I then used the sunburst die to cut out a sheet of dsp in each of the colors.  I cut off each ray and then selectively placed them on the card base.

Quilted Sunburst Close UpThe sentiment comes from the Sunburst Sayings stamp set, and the sun stamp is from a new Project Life set called Memories in the Making.

All of these fun products will be available starting tomorrow!  A great way to start the new year!

Enjoy your Monday!  Thanks for stopping by!
