For Someone Awesome — Monday Montage #58

Monday Montage Banner -- OctoberHere we go again!  Another Monday Montage Blog Hop for you!  We are a group of ten stampers who love to share what we do.  And all you have to do to follow along is to click on the links at the bottom of each post.

I wanted to make a card of encouragement/thanks for a friend who just did an awesome job on something last week.  I know it wasn’t easy for her and was most likely a little scary, but she did an awesome job.  I immediately thought of a stamp in the Big News stamp set, which I knew would be perfect.

Awesomeness LimitI pulled out my stack of Pretty Petals dsp and selected three different patterns.  I then inked up my stamp with Calypso Coral, Mint Macaron, and Basic Black inks using my Stampin’ Write Markers, and stamped on some Very Vanilla card stock.  I cut out the image with a Lots of Labels framelit die.

Some punched out flowers, paper piercing, and black baker’s twine finished off the card.  It came together pretty quickly.

Birthday Candles and Stars — Monday Montage #41

Monday Montage Banner -- OctoberWelcome to another Monday Montage blog hop!  There are ten of us stampers who are participating, and all you have to do to see all of the crafty creations is to click on the links at the bottom of each post.  You won’t want to miss a single one.

I needed a birthday card for a teenager, so I pulled out my Big News stamp set and my aquapainter and had a little fun.

Big BirthdayI started by embossing the card base with the Lucky Stars Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.

I then took my aquapainter and brushed on some ink in Daffodil Delight, Pumpkin Pie, and Strawberry Slush onto the focal panel.  After that was dry, I stamped the sentiment and added some black splatters.

I then stamped the candles, fussy cut them out, and added some of the In Color Sequins.  For a fun touch, I crazy-stitched around the edges with my sewing machine (after I dusted it off).

Gift Ensemble

Our church is blessed to have a really active youth group with great youth pastors on staff.  The head youth pastor recently went on a much earned six-week sabbatical, and with one assistant youth pastor short, the other assistant youth pastor found herself in charge (with very capable help) for that time period.  Of course, she did a fabulous job and we wanted to let her know that we think she is pretty special.

Gift Ensemble

I made a card so that we could write her a note of thanks and encouragement and a coordinating little gift box.  I love how this hobby allows us to make little ensembles like this that perfectly coordinate.

Gift Ensemble Card

I thought this stamp from Big News would be perfect for her card.  She is pretty awesome and we thought she should know.

Gift Ensemble BoxI used one of the super cute Tiny Treat Boxes for her gift.  We found a necklace that represents the theme of an upcoming event, and we immediately thought of her when we saw it.  I love it when I can find a perfect gift for someone!  I wish that would happen more often.  I usually struggle with that.

Enjoy your Monday!  Thanks for stopping by!
