Farewell Accented Blooms — Monday Montage #164

Welcome to another Monday Montage blog hop!  We are a group of stampers who love to share what we create with you, and all you have to do to follow along is click on the links at the bottom of each post.

It’s that time of year where we have to say good-bye to some stamps sets that we will miss to make room for new stamp sets to love.  As I was pulling the retiring sets off my shelf, I knew I wanted to use the Accented Blooms set at least one more time.  It is so easy to make a pretty card with very few embellishments with this stamp set.

I started by stamping this image with Memento ink and then coloring it in with my alcohol markers.  I then stamped the sentiment and cut it out with my paper snips and adhered it with dimensionals.  I added a few sequins and some baker’s twine, and then mounted it on the card base of Balmy Blue card stock.

This is such a fun set for coloring therapy.  The flowers are easy to color and I love the pretty script sentiments.  If you don’t have it and think you might want it, you’d better hurry because it is retiring in just three short weeks!

You’re ready to hop on over to Breelin Renwick’s blog.  I always love seeing what she makes!  If you prefer to work your way backwards, you can jump back to Wendy Weixler’s blog.  Either way, be sure to work your way through all of the blogs so you don’t miss a thing.

Accented Thanks — FMS347

Are you ready for another new sketch from Freshly Made Sketches?  Well, ready or not, we have one for you.  And this week our hostess extraordinaire is our favorite Rocky Mountain resident, Kim Singdahlsen.  And she has a super versatile sketch for us.  Take a look:

I recently acquired a new stamp set, Accented Blooms, and I really wanted to use it.  I could kinda-sorta see how it could work with the sketch, so I decided to use it.  I think I stretched the sketch a little bit, but hopefully you can see the sketch in my card.

I started by sponging on a little Daffodil Delight ink onto my base layer.  On a sheet of Thick Whisper White cardstock, I stamped the focal image and colored it with Stampin’ Blends markers.  I then cut it out with my paper snips.  The sentiment was stamped with Calypso Coral ink, cut out, and placed on top of the floral image with a stampin’ dimensional.

I added some Gold Metallic Thread and Metallic Pearls as embellishments.

We hope you’ll join us and create your own card using the sketch.  We love to see what you create as we browse the gallery each week.  Meanwhile, be sure to stop by the Freshly Made Sketches site to see what the design team has created for your inspiration.

Enjoy your Wednesday!  Thanks for stopping by!
