Dragonfly Friend — FMS276

It’s time for another new sketch over at the Freshly Made Sketches site, and this week I get the privilege and joy of being the hostess.  I think I came up with a simple sketch, and I think it can be used in many different ways, so I can’t wait to see what everyone does with it.  Here’s the sketch:

fms-final-276-001One of the sets I immediately fell in love with in the Occasions catalog when I first saw it was the Dragonfly Dreams set.  I love dragonflies, and this set of products has gorgeous images and framelits.  It immediately went into my cart.  And it has set on my shelf for the past two months.  I’m not sure why I’ve avoided using it.  I think that sometimes when I get a stamp set that I absolutely love, I get a little intimidated.  I feel like whatever I make with it should be absolutely gorgeous and I create this pressure on myself.  It’s almost easier for me to make a project with a set that I’m not crazy in love with because if I make something halfway decent with it I feel like I’ve done well.  But when I work with a set that I think is gorgeous, my project should be gorgeous too or I’ve failed. How silly!  So while I may not feel like this card is up to the high standards worthy of this set, I’ve used it and now I can get over it and use it again.  🙂

dragonflyI started by die cutting the dragonfly from some Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper.  That stuff is so pretty and sparkly!  I stamped the dragonfly image and cut it out, coloring it with a sponge dauber and Sweet Sugarplum and Soft Sky inks.  Some Sweet Sugarplum dsp from the In Color DSP stack was added underneath on the sides.

dragonfly-close-upI hope you’ll join us and make your own card using the sketch!  We love to see what you create and I am looking forward to browsing through the gallery this week.  Meanwhile, be sure to jump over to the Freshly Made Sketches site to see what the design team has created for your inspiration.  They always inspire me!

Enjoy your Wednesday!  Thanks for stopping by!
