Little Red Cabin in the Woods — FMS464

We have a new sketch ready and waiting for you over at Freshly Made Sketches, and this week our hostess is the lovely and talented Judy Rozema. Take a look at this fun sketch:

When I saw that little focal box, I immediately thought of the Trimming the Town suite. Maybe that’s because it’s my favorite suite and I think about it all the time when sitting down to stamp! Well, I was in a hurry and decided to let the dsp do all the work.

I cut out the little houses and layered them to create a more dimensional house. That was layered on another piece of the Trimming the Town dsp, which was layered on a piece of card stock embossed with an old snow-themed embossing folder.

The sentiment was cut out from another piece of dsp in the collection.

We hope you’ll join us and create your own card using the sketch! We love to see what you make as we browse the gallery each week. Meanwhile, be sure to stop by the Freshly Made Sketches site to see what the design team has created for your inspiration.

Mountain Home Christmas — FMS461

It’s time for another new sketch at Freshly Made Sketches! And this week our sketch comes all the way from New Zealand as our favorite Kiwi, Karren Johnson, has a great one for us. Take a look:

I wanted to use the Trimming the Town suite again because it is such a fun suite of products. So I decided to turn the sketch 90 degrees and make a landscape card rather than a portrait card. You probably have to look really closely at my card to see the sketch, but hopefully you can see it.

I started with the strip of Dazzling Diamonds glimmer paper. Oh, how I’m sad Stampin’ Up doesn’t sell glimmer paper anymore! I am so glad I still have some scraps. This strip represents the strip on the side in the sketch.

I cut out the house and trees from a sheet of the Trimming the Town dsp using the coordinating dies. The mountains in the background are from another sheet of the dsp, as is the sentiment. No stamping whatsoever on this card.

DSP Does All the Work — FMS#459

It’s time for another new sketch at Freshly Made Sketches, and this week our hostess is our friend from way up North in Canada, Jen Brum. She has a fun sketch with some fun angles. Take a look:

I didn’t have much time to make a card for this week, so I took the easy way out and let some fabulous designer series paper do all the work.

I love the Trimming the Town dsp! It has fantastic colors and I love the cute designs and patterns. It has an adorable stamp set. And it also has dies that coordinate with both the dsp and the stamp set!

I started this one by cutting out two snow drifts using the Home Together Dies. I placed them on a piece of dsp from the Trimming the Town collection. I cut out the house, wreath and trees from other sheets of this dsp using the same die collection. The sentiment was also cut from another piece of this dsp. Yep, not a single bit of stamping on this card!

We hope you’ll join us and create your own card using the sketch! We love to see what you make as we browse the gallery each week! Meanwhile, be sure to stop by the Freshly Made Sketches site to see what the design team has created for your inspiration!

Little Red House — FMS455

It’s time for a new sketch at Freshly Made Sketches, and this week our favorite Bay Stater and clean stamper extraordinaire, Jen Mitchell, is our hostess.  Take a look at this fun square sketch:

I hadn’t made a square card in a while, so I was glad that Jen drew a square sketch.  I wanted to play with the cute houses in the Coming Home stamp set, so that was my starting point.

The focal circle was made with a little ink blending and was cut out with a Stitched Shapes circle.  I then stamped the tree , chimney smoke, and light pole directly on the circle.  The two houses and wreath were stamped and colored with alcohol markers and cut out with the coordinating dies.  I layered the two houses to make one house with a little more dimension.

The sentiment was cut from a piece of dsp from the Trimming the Town collection.  That is also where the background paper with the trees is from.

We hope you’ll join us and create your own card using the sketch!  We love to see what you make as we browse the gallery each week!  Meanwhile, be sure to stop by the Freshly Made Sketches site to see what the design team has created for your inspiration!

Gather Home — FMS453

It’s time for another new sketch at Freshly Made Sketches, and this week the very talented and lovely Judy Rozema is our hostess.  Take a look at this fun sketch:

This sketch is so versatile!  I looked through the stamp sets on my shelf and pulled out the Coming Home set because I hadn’t used it yet and I wanted to color.  I decided to make a Fall themed card rather than a Christmas card, which this set was designed for.

I started by stamping the two houses, trees, and wreath with Memento Black ink and colored them with my alcohol markers.  I then cut them out with the coordinating dies.  I layered the smaller house over the larger one to make a new house.  These images layer so easily and give you so many possibilities.  I love them!

I sponged a little Crumb Cake and Balmy Blue inks onto the circle to add a little depth.  I then added some Pretty Peacock splatters to the sky.  The sentiment is from the Gather Together stamp set and was stamped with Cajun Craze ink.

We hope you’ll join us and create your own card using the sketch!  We love seeing what you make as we browse the gallery each week!  Meanwhile, be sure to stop by the Freshly Made Sketches site to see what the design team has created for your inspiration.

Enjoy your Wednesday!  Thanks for stopping by!
