Mosaic Fusion

Retro Sketches has another fabulous sketch this week:

When I was reorganizing my supplies recently, I came across this cute Sizzlits die, Floral Fusion, that I haven’t used in a really long time.  And I love this die, so I kept it handy, knowing I wanted to use it when the right idea came along.  I thought it would work perfectly with this sketch.

Mosaic FusionI looped some crochet thread around under the flowers and bow just for a fun touch.  There’s a lot of white space on this card, but I like it against the contrast of the bold, bright colors of the Quatrefancy dsp and flowers.  The sentiment is from A Dozen Thoughts.

When I saw the current sketch at Retro Sketches, I knew I needed to find the time to play along.  I love this sketch!

I am in love with these colors together right now — Pool Party, Calypso Coral, Daffodil Delight, and Island Indigo.  I think they are so fresh and Spring-y.

I dyed the flowers, made from Creped Filter Paper by placing the flowers directly on my ink pad and using a sponge dauber to dab them until they were well inked.

Enjoy your Tuesday!  Thanks for stopping by!

A Flower Trio — FabFri13

Yea! It’s time for another challenge at the Fab Friday Challenge Blog today. And I love the sketch for today.

I didn’t use the butterfly shape; I chose an oval instead.  Use your imagination, and surprise us with your creation.  Of course, you can use a butterfly if you’d like.  Who doesn’t like butterflies?

I am stuck on this color combo — I LOVE it!  Have you noticed how coral is everywhere these days!  Every catalog I get in the mail features this color.

I distressed the flowers with my bone folder before gluing them together.  Here’s a closer look:

Not much stamping on this card — just the chevron background on the oval.  Just plenty of Big Shot work — how did we ever live without this thing?  I didn’t put a sentiment on this card.  I just couldn’t figure out where to put one.  It’s nice to have a few cards on hand without a sentiment anyways.

Well, I hope you can find time to join us at Fab Friday for this sketch challenge.  Enjoy your Friday!  Thanks for stopping by!
