Wild Dinosaurs — FMS319

It’s time for another new sketch, after a break for the holidays, over at Freshly Made Sketches.  And to get us started for 2018, our hostess is Rita Wright.  Take a look at this great sketch:

It has been the best of times this week and it has been the worst of times.  My son who goes to the University of Alabama won a free Taco Bell Student Section ticket to the National Championship football game Monday night.  He had a fabulous night, which was made much more fun by their late come-from-behind victory (sorry, Georgia fans — that was a tough loss and I truly feel for you).  We had fun celebrating with him via technology, and then the next morning, one of my daughters woke up with the flu.  So my job yesterday included unplanned nursing duties.  I’m so glad I could be here for her, as she is miserable.  Now I’m praying (and going through many Lysol wipes) that none of the rest of us get it.

I needed to make a quick card, as I haven’t done much stamping with all three kids at home until Sunday.  I decided to let some dsp be the star of the show, so I pulled out some of my favorite dsp from the Pick a Pattern dsp.

I love the cute dinosaurs on this paper and my sixteen year old, flu-stricken daughter loves dinosaurs, Dr. Who, Harry Potter, musicals, Star Wars, and a few other varied subjects, so I thought it would be perfect to stick in her backpack when she is well enough to go back to school.

We hope you’ll join us and make your own card using the sketch!  We love to look through the gallery and gain inspiration from your creations.  Meanwhile, be sure to stop by the Freshly Made Sketches site to see what the design team has created for you.

Enjoy your Wednesday!  Thanks for stopping by!

Dinosaur Greetings — FMS297

It’s time for a new sketch over at Freshly Made Sketches and this week the supremely talented Jen Mitchell is our hostess.  Take a look at this fun sketch she has for us:

I am still in love with the Patterns & Pieces suite.  It’s just so easy to make a cute card with these sweet images.

I used a color combination of Lemon Lime Twist, Calypso Coral, Night of Navy and Basic Black.

I started by using the Layering Squares Framelits die to cut out a square black frame.

We hope you’ll join us and create your own card using the sketch.  We love to see your creativity at work!  Meanwhile be sure to hop on over to the Freshly Made Sketches site to see what the design team has created for your inspiration.

Enjoy Today — FMS292

Here we go again — another Wednesday and another new sketch over at Freshly Made Sketches!  And this week, our hostess is our French friend, Cecile Ribon.  She has a creative and fun sketch too:

Of all the products in the new catalog, I seem to be especially drawn to the Pick a Pattern Suite.  I think it’s the fun, quirky images and patterns that draw me in, and I love the colors.

I used several new products to make this card.  I started by using the new Pinewood Planks 3D Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.  I spritzed the Emerald Envy card stock with a little bit of water before embossing, and it left such a detailed and beautiful impression.

The cute bear and tree were cut from the coordinating dsp, Pick a Pattern.  There are so many cute images, it was hard to just pick two.

I also used some of the new Black Mini Sequin Trim and the retired Flirty Flamingo ribbon (don’t have any of the new yet).  Some Crushed Curry enamel shapes helped finish it off.

We hope you’ll join us and make your own card using the sketch.  We love to see what you create as we browse the gallery.  Meanwhile, be sure to hop on over to the Freshly Made Sketches site to see what the design team has created for your inspiration.

Enjoy your Wednesday!  Thanks for stopping by!

Hello There New Stuff — FMS288

We’re back again with another new sketch over at the Freshly Made Sketches site.  And this week our hostess is Jen Mitchell, who is absolutely amazing with butterflies and everything clean and beautiful.  Check out this fun sketch she has for us:

I decided to take a little break from just using retiring sets and use some of the new stuff, which will be available in the new annual catalog on June 1st.  My pre-order had been sitting in an unopened box, and when I finally opened it to put everything away, I couldn’t resist using some of it for this sketch.

One of my favorite suites in the new catalog is the Pick a Pattern Suite.  It is an eclectic mix of images ranging from dinosaurs to pretty flowers and uses such a fun combination of colors.  I thought this sketch would be perfect to feature one of my favorite dsp sheets.  The colors and patterns in this just make me happy.  I used the coordinating stamp set, Pieces & Patterns for the sentiment and focal image.

I stamped the sentiment with Crushed Curry ink on Whisper White cardstock  and punched it out, mounting it on a Basic Black punched circle.  Some ribbon, a doily, and linen thread were added as fun embellishments.  I didn’t feel the need to add too much, as I wanted the pretty paper to be the star of this card.

We hope you’ll join us and make your own card using the sketch.  We love to look through the gallery and see what you make.  Meanwhile, be sure to stop by the Freshly Made Sketches site to see what the design team has created for your inspiration.

Enjoy your Wednesday!  Thanks for stopping by!
