Farewell to Crafting Forever — FMS437

It’s time for another new sketch at Freshly Made Sketches, and this week our sketch comes all the way from France.  Cecile Ribon, who is our resident master of die-cuts, has a great one for us.  Take a look:

Were you wondering about the alarming title to this blog post?  I’m still trying to use some of the retiring stamp sets before they are gone next week for good.  One I haven’t used in a long time is the Crafting Forever stamp set.  I loved this set when it came out and I remember using it a lot as I made display board samples with it.  My favorite image in the set is the pens.  I have used these pens for lots of different types of cards, but I needed to make a graduation card and I thought it would work for that too.

I started by stamping the pens and coloring them with markers before cutting them out with my paper snips.  I then adhered them to the card base with the small dimensionals.

The sentiment is from another retiring stamp set, Seriously the Best.  This is a set that I will really miss.  I love the big, bold sentiments.

We hope you’ll join us and create your own card using the sketch!  We love to see what you make as we browse the gallery each week.  Meanwhile, be sure to stop by the Freshly Made Sketches site to see what the design team has created for your inspiration.  They have some fabulous interpretations of the sketch this week!

Enjoy your Wednesday!  Thanks for stopping by!

Pretty Pens for a Fabulous Teacher — FMS340

It’s Wednesday, and it’s time for a new sketch at Freshly Made Sketches.  This week our friend from half-way around the world in New Zealand, Karren Johnson, is our hostess.  Take a look at this fun sketch:

It is the last day of school for my girls, and one of our favorite teachers will be moving to a different school next year.  We are really sad and will miss her.  I wanted to make a card for her to write her a little note, and thought the pens in the Crafting Forever stamp set would be perfect.

I started with a card base made with Gray Granite card stock.  The pens were stamped with Memento black ink and colored with Stampin’ Blends markers.  I then cut them out with my paper snips and adhered them with Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals.

The sentiment is from an old Paper Pumpkin stamp set.

We hop you’ll join us and create your own card using the sketch.  We love to see what you create!  Meanwhile, be sure to drop by the Freshly Made Sketches site to see what the design team has created for your inspiration.

Enjoy your Wednesday!  Thanks for stopping by!

Crafting Stamps — Monday Montage #96

Welcome to another Monday Montage blog hop!  We are a group of ten stampers who love to share what we create with you, and all you have to do to follow along is click on the links at the bottom of each post.

I have a couple more cards to share with you using the Crafting Forever stamp set.  This set is so perfect for creating cards for crafty friends.

I started this one by stamping the scissors image several times all over a piece of Shimmery White cardstock.  I colored them with a blender pen and ink pads using a color combo of Lemon Lime Twist, Dapper Denim, and Smoky Slate.

I love the stamp with the pens.  I guess that can be traced back to my love of school supplies and office supplies.

I paired this fun image with some of the Color Theory dsp, and used a color combo of Crushed Curry, Berry Burst, Old Olive, Smoky Slate, and Dapper Denim.

Crafting Forever — Monday Montage #93

Welcome to another Monday Montage blog hop!  We are a group of ten stampers who love to share what we create with you, and all you have to do to follow along is click on the links at the bottom of each post.

I’ve got a couple of cards for you today that use the Crafting Forever stamp set, which will be available in just a few days, starting on June 1.  It is a cute set that includes several images of fun crafting supplies.

I started this card by stamping the pot of paint brushes on some watercolor paper and coloring with an aqua painter and blender pens.  Once it was dry, I cut it out with my paper snips.  I’m one of those who finds fussy cutting to be relaxing — as long as it comes in small doses.

I then smooshed some Crushed Curry ink on a piece of piece of window sheet and directly applied it to a piece of Whisper White card stock.  Some splatters were added to that once it was dry.

Some sequins and baker’s twine were added as little embellishments, and the card front was adhered to a Dapper Denim card base.

For this second card, I started with a piece of Shimmery White card stock and stamped two of the baker’s twine spools with Basic Black ink.  I stamped a third on a scrap of Shimmery White card stock and cut it out with my paper snips before adhering it onto the card.

Some sequins and baker’s twine were again added as embellishments.  A new In Color, Powder Pink, was used as the card base.  It is such a pretty pink.
