A You-Don’t-Have-to-Color-It Card — FMS281

It’s time for another sketch over at the Freshly Made Sketches site, and this week our favorite Coloradan, Kim Singdahlsen, is our hostess.  She has a fun and simple sketch for us that I think  you’ll love:

One of my favorite Sale-a-Bration offerings has been the Inside the Lines dsp.  It’s so fun to color, but it’s also beautiful when you just leave it as is, which is what I did for this card.

I thought I’d get a jump on a Mother’s Day card, and made this one using the Crazy About You stamp set.  The pretty leaves are from the May Flowers Framelits dies..

We hope you’ll join us and play along with the challenge this week!  We love to see what  you create.  Meanwhile, be sure to drop by the Freshly Made Sketches site to see what the design team has created for your inspiration!

Medallion Made — Monday Montage #90

Welcome to another Monday Montage blog hop!  We are a group of ten stampers who love to share what we create with you, and all you have to do to follow along is click on the links at the bottom of each post.

Sale-a-Bration is quickly coming to a close.  If you haven’t taken advantage of it yet, you’d better hurry!  One of the late additions to the offerings this year is the Make a Medallion stamp set.  I love medallions, and this one is a fun set because you can stamp multiple colors in your medallions as it is made of several different stamps that beautifully layer together.

I went with a color combination of Blushing Bride, Calypso Coral, and Pool Party.  To make the messy background, I used some stamps from the Touches of Texture set.

You’re ready to hop on over to Breelin Renwick’s blog.  I always love seeing what she makes!  If you prefer to work your way backwards, you can jump back to Wendy Weixler’s blog.  Either way, be sure to work your way through all of the blogs so you don’t miss a thing.

Coloring Therapy — FMS277

Here we go again — it’s time for another new sketch over at Freshly Made Sketches.  And this week, our favorite pilot, Jennifer Timko, is our hostess.  She has a super versatile sketch for us that you’re going to love:

One of the fun Sale-a-Bration offerings is the Inside the Lines dsp.  It’s like sheets of grown-up coloring pages.  With the new watercolor pencils, these sheets are not only a fun stress-relieving activity, but they make beautiful cards as well.  I thought this sketch would be a perfect way to highlight this paper.

color-therapy-birthdayI used the Old Olive, Daffodil Delight and Calypso Coral pencils for my coloring, and used a Blender Pen to finish if off.  I need to practice some more with this technique, but it was fun to docolor-therapy-birthday-close-up

I used the Labeler Alphabet stamp set to make the sentiment.  Love that set!

We hope you’ll join us and make your own card using the sketch!  We love to see what you create.  Meanwhile, be sure to jump over to the Freshly Made Sketches site to see what the design team has created for your inspiration.  You’ll see a great variety of projects!

A Taco Truck — FMS274

We have a new sketch for you over at the Freshly Made Sketches site today.  Our favorite Canadian, Jen Brum, is our hostess this week and take a look at this fun sketch:

fms-final-274-001

I love the cute food truck image in the Tasty Trucks stamp set, which is one of the free Sale-a-Bration offerings.  One of the many benefits of living in Texas is that we have access to many delicious taco options, as well as Mexican and Tex-Mex food in general.  One of our favorite taco places is a small little store in a Shell gas station not far from our house, which is run by a local family.  There is just one big table at which to sit and eat your food, so most people just get their tacos to go or sit and eat with whoever else is there.  They are just like street tacos and are delicious.  Stamping this food truck made me wish they had a taco truck and would come down our street everyday at lunch time.  Yum!

taco-truckI started by stamping the cute little tacos on the Pool Party card base.  I then stamped the truck on some watercolor paper and colored it with an aquapainter and blender pen using my ink pads (Daffodil Delight, Rich Razzleberry, Smoky Slate, and Crumb Cake).

I added a little ribbon and black metallic thread, as well as some black Baker’s Twine.  Pretty easy!

A Good Egg — FMS269

Happy New Year!  I hope you had a wonderful holiday season.  I loved having all of our little chicks at home in the nest, but I must confess that I also felt pretty good dropping them off at school yesterday morning.  It’s good to get back in a routine (and not have to load/unload the dishwasher twice a day).  We’re back with another new sketch over at Freshly Made Sketches, and this week our friend from the snowy Northeast, Linda Callahan, is our hostess.  She has a super versatile sketch for us that I think you’ll love:

Since today is the first day of Sale-a-Bration (woohoo!!), I thought I should use some Sale-a-Bration products.  I’ve used two stamp sets for this card.  One will be obvious, but you may have to look closely for the second one.  Each Sale-a-Bration set is FREE with any $50 purchase.

I’m not sure why, but I love the Hey, Chick stamp set.  All of the chickens are adorable and I love the sentiments.  I stamped the images on watercolor paper and colored with an aquapainter.

The other stamp set that I used is another Sale-a-Bration set called Delicate Details.  It has some fun border images, and I love how it is photopolymer and therefore easy to line everything up.  I stamped one of the borders on the strip of Cherry Cobbler card stock with Basic Black ink.

Cupcake Truck — Monday Montage #84

Welcome to another Monday Montage blog hop!  We are a group of ten stampers who love to share what we create with you, and all you have to do to follow along is click on the links at the bottom of each post.

Even though I’m still woefully behind on my Christmas to-do list and should be entirely focused on that, I received my pre-order box of Occasions catalog and Sale-a-Bration items and couldn’t resist playing with just a little bit of it.  These catalogs won’t be live until January 4, but I thought I’d give you a sneak peek.

One of the items I was so excited to break open was the Watercolor Pencils.  And there is the cutest set in the Sale-a-Bration catalog, Tasty Trucks, that is perfect for coloring.  This set will be a free item with any $50 purchase.

cupcake-truckThese new pencils are so easy to blend.  I used a blender pen for this, but an aqua painter works well too.

A sheet from the Cupcakes & Carousels stack was used for the background.  This paper will be available in the upcoming Occasions catalog on January 4.

cupcake-truck-close-upThis is such a fun stamp set.  I love how you can customize this cute truck with lots of tasty treats.  Wouldn’t a cupcake truck be awesome if it came down your street?!?  It’s probably a good thing we don’t have one.

You’re ready to hop on over to Breelin Renwick’s blog.  I always love seeing what she makes!  If you prefer to work your way backwards, you can jump back to Wendy Weixler’s blog.  Either way, be sure to work your way through all of the blogs so you don’t miss a thing.
