Sweet Bunny – FMS530

We’re back with a new sketch for you over at Freshly Made Sketches, and this week our hostess is our very talented friend from Massachusetts, Jen Mitchell. She has a fun sketch for us – take a peek:

I made an Easter care package for my college student and wanted to put a card in it, so I knew that would be my theme for the sketch. Since I hadn’t used the sweet bunny in the Easter Friends stamp set yet and I knew it would be perfect for an Easter card (Easter IS in the name of the stamp set after all), this card came together pretty quickly.

I started by stamping and lightly coloring the bunny with my alcohol markers. I added a blended background with some Pear Pizzazz and Balmy Blue inks.

Some little Loose Flower Flourishes were added around the sentiment, and that was it, other than a little baker’s twine bow.

I’ll write a little note and place it right on top of the care package, which I decorated with some flowers made using the Pierced Blooms Dies and some leftover pieces of the recent Sale-a-Bration dsp from the Friendly Hello collection.

We hope you’ll join us and create your own card using the sketch! We love to see what you make as we browse the gallery each week. Meanwhile, be sure to stop by the Freshly Made Sketches site to see what the design team has created for your inspiration!

Enjoy your Wednesday! Thanks for stopping by!

Spring Duckling — FMS528

We’re back with another new sketch at Freshly Made Sketches today, and this week our hostess is the talented Jacquie Southas. Take a look at what she has for us:

This sketch was a little challenging for me. I just couldn’t figure out what to do with those three little strips. I’ve really been wanting to ink up the Easter Friends stamp set, so I decided I’d somehow make it work with the sketch. I may have stretched it a little bit, but hey, I decided to just go with it.

I started this card by blending some Pear Pizzazz ink along the bottom to represent a grassy field and then applied some Balmy Blue ink for the sky. I stamped three little tufts of grass to represent the three strips from the sketch — I know, it’s a stretch.

I stamped the cute little duckling with Basic Gray ink and colored him with my alcohol markers before cutting him out with my paper snips.

The sentiment is from the same stamp set and the little flowers and leaves are from the Peach dies collection. I colored some of the tiny pearls with an alcohol marker to put in their centers.

We hope you’ll join us and create your own card using the sketch! We love to see what you make as we browse the gallery each week! Meanwhile, be sure to stop by the Freshly Made Sketches site to see what the design team has created for your inspiration!

Enjoy your Wednesday! Thanks for stopping by!
