Vintage Christmas — FabFri33

Here we are with our last Fab Friday challenge of the year.  And we have a fun sketch challenge for you.

I decided to try to make a Christmas card with a vintage feel to it.  I love that look, but find it hard to make.  I pulled out my dusty Layered Labels set and stamped the beautiful bottom layer with the Gold Encore ink and went from there.

Vintage Christmas 2I hope you’ll go by the Fab Friday site and see what the other designers did with the sketch.  And then I hope you can find some time to play along with us and add your card to the gallery.

Simple Sewn Season Greetings

Iced in here another day.  The kids don’t have school again today.  Yikes!   I don’t know how those of you who live up North do it. My creative mojo has been frozen over as well.  I’ve had more time to craft the past four days than ever, and I can’t do it.  Nothing is coming to me — I just want to cuddle up by the fire with a cozy blanket, and snuggle with the kids and dog all day.  I did sit down at my desk and force myself to make something yesterday.  I thought if I could just make one thing, it would get the creative juices flowing and I could get more done.  Didn’t work.  But here is what I did make.

red and black greetingsIt’s a very simple card, and I’ve used a bit of an unconventional color scheme for a Christmas card.  I even pulled out my little sewing machine.

Enjoy your Monday!  Thanks for stopping by!

Christmas Wishes Wreath

I love the sketch over at Sketchbook Saturday Challenge this week, so I had to play along:

I have really neglected my Wonderful Wreath stamp this year, so I pulled it off the shelf (and mounted the stamp).  I added some Cherry Cobbler Dazzling Details on the wreath and embossed the sentiment with Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder.

All That Glitters is… Monday Montage #7

Monday Montage Banner -- October

It’s time for another Monday Montage blog hop!  I hope you’ll make your way through all ten stops on the hop, and that you’ll get some great ideas and inspiration along the way.

I have really been enjoying working with gold and white this holiday season.  I think it looks so elegant and festive.  I’ve made two cards for you with this color combination.  I used fiber paste with the polka dot Build a Banner Simply Create Kit stencils on both of the cards.  I just love the texture it provides!

Gold Snowflake 2

On this first card, I used white and gold embossing powder on vellum card stock for the snowflake.  I also used some of the gold Smooch Spritz, which Stampin’ Up retired, but I’m having a hard time letting go.

Gold StarOn this second card, I used gold embossing power on the Christmas Star stamp.  The sentiment comes from the Endless Wishes photopolymer stamps.

I hope you’ll continue your way along the hop path, and go visit the very talented Breelin Renwick’s blog.  If you prefer to venture backwards, you can go visit the amazing Wendy Weixler’s blog.  Either way, you can make your way to all ten blogs.

I Love Pink and Gold — Monday Montage #6

Monday Montage Banner -- October

We have another Monday Montage Blog Hop in store for you this evening!  I hope you’ll follow along the blog hop trail and see what all of the designers have made.

I have made a new discovery — I love pink and gold together!  I made a couple of Christmas cards using these two colors together and I threw Coastal Cabana into the mix too for a nice contrast color.

Snowflake WishesI love the look of gold embossing, and used that on both of the snowflakes.  I also threw in some sequins.

Another discovery I made is that pink and gold do not photograph well together on my camera.  Here’s a picture of my other card.  Please forgive the terrible picture.  It looks so much better in real life.

pink and gold star card copyThe pink that I used on both cards is Blushing Bride — I love that pink!

Well, you’re ready to hop on over to Breelin Renwick’s fantastic blog.  If you’d rather work your way backwards (you, rebel!) you can do that too and hop on over to Wendy Weixler’s amazing blog.  Either way, just work your way through the nine other blogs to see the treats they have in store for you.

Washi and Bling

Here’s a super simple Christmas card for you today.

Washi and Bling

I used some of the Season of Style Designer Washi Tape on the top and bottom of the card base, and stamped the sentiment from Joy to the World.  I made a little triple bow and added one of the Frosted Finishes Embellishments and some Rhinestone Basic Jewels.  Easy-peasy!

Enjoy your Saturday!  I get to watch my youngest celebrate her 9th birthday with five other girls as they go to a local stable and go horseback riding.  Very fun!  Thanks for stopping by!

Polka Dot Christmas Wishes

I love polka dots.  So it should be no surprise that I love the Season of Style dsp collection.  There are a three great polka dots patterns in there.

Polka Dot WishesThis was an easy card to put together.  I used the Early Espresso Stampin’ Emboss powder for the sentiment.  I love that special touch.
