Hello There New Stuff — FMS288

We’re back again with another new sketch over at the Freshly Made Sketches site.  And this week our hostess is Jen Mitchell, who is absolutely amazing with butterflies and everything clean and beautiful.  Check out this fun sketch she has for us:

I decided to take a little break from just using retiring sets and use some of the new stuff, which will be available in the new annual catalog on June 1st.  My pre-order had been sitting in an unopened box, and when I finally opened it to put everything away, I couldn’t resist using some of it for this sketch.

One of my favorite suites in the new catalog is the Pick a Pattern Suite.  It is an eclectic mix of images ranging from dinosaurs to pretty flowers and uses such a fun combination of colors.  I thought this sketch would be perfect to feature one of my favorite dsp sheets.  The colors and patterns in this just make me happy.  I used the coordinating stamp set, Pieces & Patterns for the sentiment and focal image.

I stamped the sentiment with Crushed Curry ink on Whisper White cardstock  and punched it out, mounting it on a Basic Black punched circle.  Some ribbon, a doily, and linen thread were added as fun embellishments.  I didn’t feel the need to add too much, as I wanted the pretty paper to be the star of this card.

We hope you’ll join us and make your own card using the sketch.  We love to look through the gallery and see what you make.  Meanwhile, be sure to stop by the Freshly Made Sketches site to see what the design team has created for your inspiration.

Enjoy your Wednesday!  Thanks for stopping by!

  1. YOu have such a wonderful knack of combining elements, Amy! The ribbon, die-cut and thread behind that circular sentiment all work so well together. Gorgeous card!
