Blossom

Blossoming

Here’s a simple card with some colors that I got from a Hungry Jack hashbrowns ad in the Sunday coupon pages.    The logo on the ad really caught my eye because of the color combination used, so I tore it out and saved it until I could make this card.  Sometimes inspiration comes in truly unexpected ways, doesn’t it?

More Sent with Love

Sent with Love Circles

I pulled out my Sent with Love bundle again.  I have really enjoyed using it!  I especially love the dsp sheet that has all of the cute tags on it.  I punched one out for this card and made it the focal point.

There is very little stamping on this card.  Can you spot it?  I’ll post the answer under the supply list at the bottom of this post.

Enjoy your Monday!  Thanks for stopping by!

Supplies Used:
Stamps:  Sent with Love
Ink:  Whisper White
Paper:  Calypso Coral, Real Red, Sent with Love dsp

Answer:  The only stamping is the Whisper White lines on the thin, flagged, red strip of card stock.

Three Flowers Squared — PP 137

It’s Sunday, and that means it’s time for another fun challenge at the Paper Players.  And this week, Ann has a great CAS sketch challenge for us:

Since this week is the last week of Sale-A-Bration, I wanted to use one of the Sale-a-Bration sets.  I chose Bloomin’ Marvelous because I haven’t used it enough and I thought the flowers would fit nicely in the little squares on the sketch.

I chose this happy color scheme of Pumpkin Pie, Pool Party, Tempting Turquoise, Gumball Green, and Crumb Cake for the card.  I love these colors together.

Come on over to the Paper Players and join us in this week’s challenge.  We’d love to see how you interpret the sketch.  Meanwhile, check out what the other designers made:

Neglected Make a Wish

Continuing on with my theme of using neglected stamp sets this week, I dusted off the Make a Wish stamp set for this card.  Now, this one hasn’t really been TOO neglected.  I did just receive it last month at the Dallas Regional event.  However, I’ve looked at it every day since then and had only mounted one of the stamps (I used one of the sentiments  a while ago).  So I mounted the rest of the stamps in the set and put it to use.  I paper pieced the cake.

Neglected Field Flowers — FabFri14

This is another Fab Friday week!  And we have a fun color challenge in store for you this time:

I love these colors!  Going along with my theme for the week — to use my neglected stamp sets (I really need more than a week for this theme :)), I chose Field Flowers for today.  I think this set is gorgeous!  And I love how the flower is a separate stamp from the stem — it makes it so easy to ink up the colors you want.  And the two-step stamping for the petals makes it so easy to add dimension to the card.  Why haven’t I been using this stamp set more?  I don’t know, but I really had fun playing with it for this challenge.

Neglected Summer Silhouettes — FMS 77

Continuing on with my theme for the week of using neglected stamp sets on my shelf, I am using Summer Silhouettes today.  I also used the sketch at Freshly Made Sketches, by the very talented Jennifer Timko.

This stamp set was one of the first sets I ordered when the catalog came out.  I love it and I used it a few times, and then it was sadly neglected.

Summer Blues

When I saw the sketch, I immediately knew I wanted to use the large Silver Basics Designer Buttons.  I have used up almost all of the small ones, but have had a hard time incorporating the large ones into my projects.   I think they fit well with this sketch.

I hope you can make time to join us in this challenge at Freshly Made Sketches this week.  Go check out what the other designers did with the sketch and then make a project of your own.

Enjoy your Wednesday!  Thanks for stopping by!

Neglected Elements of Style

I still think that Elements of Style is a beautiful stamp set.  The details are so pretty.  But continuing with my theme this week of using neglected stamp sets on my shelf, I had to include this stamp set.  I’ve seen so many pretty cards made with this set and they are colored so beautifully, and I tend to shy away from that because it takes more time than I have to color and I don’t really feel that I’m very good at that.  But really, this stamp doesn’t have to be colored.  It’s pretty just as it is.

floral faux washi

I cased this layout from one used by Betsy Veldman in a Paper Crafts magazine.  I sprayed the floral panel with some Vanilla Shimmer Smooch Spritz so it has a pretty sparkle in real life.  I used a sponge dauber and Pretty in Pink ink to dye the doily snippet, and I dyed the flower trim with Calypso Coral ink.  The paper scraps in the bottom corner all came from the Tea for Two dsp.

A Magazine Case

I recently saw a pretty card that is on the cover of a Card Creations magazine.  I’m not sure who made the card because I haven’t actually looked at the magazine — I’ve just seen the cover.  So I’m not sure to whom the credit should be given.  When I saw it, I immediately knew I wanted to make a Stampin’ Up version of the card.  I added a few other changes as well, like the ribbon and bow.

A Single Blossom

I am making it a mission this week to use some stamp sets that have been neglected, but that I love.  This Stippled Blossoms set is one of them.

Quintessential Flower for a Friend — PP136

I hope you’re ready for a color challenge today because Nance has a great one for us this week at the Paper Players:

I hadn’t used Regal Rose in so long, and it’s such a pretty color.  I decided to use the Quintessential Flower stamp because it has been sitting neglected on my stamp shelf.

Happy Colors Posie Card

I hope you’re not tired of seeing projects made with the Pop-Up Posies Designer Kit.  I have one last project (well, at least for this week anyways) to show you today — a card.

muffin cup flower cardI hope you’re not tired of this color combination, too.  I’ve been using it a lot lately.  It just seems so happy and spring-y to me.

I used the little muffin-wrappers flowers on this card, and cut them with my paper snips so they would lay flat.

Spring Break has arrived here!  I am so looking forward to having the kids at home next week.  We’ll have to go out for some daily excursions.  Good times!
