Another Lantern for Christmas — FMS318

We have one last sketch for you in 2017 at Freshly Made Sketches.  And this week, our favorite upstate New Yorker, Linda Callahan, is our hostess.  She has a great sketch for us that is full of Christmas cheer.

When I saw this rectangular focal panel, I immediately thought of the Seasonal Lantern stamp set.  I think this set has been my favorite this year, and I wanted to use it again one more time.

After coloring the image with Stampin’ Blends markers, I applied some Wink of Stella glitter over the lantern to add some shimmer.

The white background was repeatedly stamped with an old Paper Pumpkin stamp using Smoky Slate ink that was stamped off once.

We are leaving this challenge open for longer than usual — January 8 to be exact, so you’ll have lots of time to create a card (or two) using this great sketch.  We love to see what you create!  Meanwhile, be sure to stop by the Freshly Made Sketches site to see what the design team has created for your inspiration.

Enjoy your Wednesday!  And have a wonderful Christmas!  Thanks for stopping by!

Elf Holiday — Monday Montage #106

Welcome to another Monday Montage blog hop!  We are a group of nine stampers who love to share what we create with you, and all you have to do to follow along is click on the links at the bottom of each post.

As I scramble to finish Christmas preparations, I have another Christmas card to share with you.  I love this cute image of this shy elf, and he’s so easy and quick to color, so he’s perfect for last minute Christmas cards.

I added a couple of pieces of dsp from the Quilted Christmas dsp pack and the Merry Little Christmas dsp collection to add some festive color to the card.  A little Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper snowflake  was cut using one of the Seasonal Layers Thinlits dies.

You’re ready to hop on over to Breelin Renwick’s blog.  I always love seeing what she makes!  If you prefer to work your way backwards, you can jump back to Wendy Weixler’s blog.  Either way, be sure to work your way through all of the blogs so you don’t miss a thing.

Pine Christmas Blessings — FMS317

Its’ time for another new sketch over at Freshly Made Sketches, and this week the fabulous Jen Mitchell is our hostess.  She has a fun square card for us.  Take a look:

I decided to use some dsp for the focal panel, and I love this sheet of pretty trees, which I hadn’t cut into yet.  It was time to confront my paper hoarding tendencies and use it.

I used two different sheets of dsp from two different collections.  The trees are from the Merry Little Christmas pack, and the sheet behind it is from the Merry Music pack.

I added some pine boughs from the Pretty Pines Thinlits Dies, cut from Old Olive card stock and Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper.  A little bit of Black Metallic Thread was added as well.  The sentiment was stamped with black ink and embossed with clear embossing powder, and is from the Christmas Pines stamp set.

We hope you’ll join us and create your own card using the sketch.  We love to see what you make as we browse the gallery.  Meanwhile, be sure to stop by the Freshly Made Sketches site to see what the design team has created for your inspiration.

Enjoy your Wednesday!  Thanks for stopping by!

Fireworks & Love — FMS316

It’s time for another sketch over at Freshly Made Sketches, and this week the ever kind and fabulous Jennifer Timko is our hostess.  Take a look at this fun sketch that she has for us:

My husband and I just celebrated our 22nd anniversary last week and I used the sketch to make him a card to mark the occasion.  When I saw the sketch, I thought some dsp would work great for the large panel.  Flipping through my stash, I thought this sheet of specialty dsp with silver foil images reminded me of fireworks and celebrations.

I die-cut the sentiment from the Sunshine Wishes dies collection out of silver glimmer paper, and placed it on a piece of Night of Navy card stock.

I tried adding different embellishments, but kept eliminating them as I thought it really looked best without them and I wanted to keep the card more masculine.  I know it has glitter, but hey, it goes with the fireworks theme, right?

I found this sentiment in the Paisleys & Posies stamp set, and thought it was perfect for the occasion and works with the fireworks theme.  I embossed some little silver hearts from an old Paper Pumpkin stamp to add a little interest, and ran a piece of silver foil washi tape along the bottom.

We hope you’ll join us and create your own card using the sketch.  We love seeing what you make as we browse the gallery each week.  Meanwhile, be sure to hop on over to the Freshly Made Sketches site to see what the design team has whipped up for your inspiration.

Enjoy your Wednesday!  Thanks for stopping by!
