It’s time for another new sketch at Freshly Made Sketches on this Valentine’s Day, and this week it comes from our friend from the snowy land of upstate New York, Linda Callahan. Take a look at what she has for us:
I thought that focal oval would be perfect for one of the images in the Everyday Details stamp set.
I started by stamping the image, coloring it with alcohol markers and cutting it out with a die from the Thoughtful Expressions collection. I thought I had stamped it on some Basic White card stock – at least it looked like that when I pulled out a piece of card stock from my scrap folder. Little did I know that I had pulled out some Very Vanilla card stock instead. In fact, I didn’t figure that out until I photographed the card THE NEXT MORNING. I know my eyesight has gotten worse as I’ve aged, but Good Grief! I guess the eyes sometimes see what they want to see.
I used some of the Softly Stippled dsp, which is a Sale-a-Bration offering for the card base and some Pumpkin Pie baker’s twine.
We hope you’ll join us and create your own card using the sketch! We love to see what you make as we browse the gallery each week. Meanwhile, be sure to stop by the Freshly Made Sketches site to see what the design team has created for your inspiration!
Enjoy your Wednesday! Thanks for stopping by!

Lovely flowers against a beautiful blue backdrop! And the vanilla looks great – like you planned it!
This is just the sweetest card Amy! I love those flowers and the background paper is so pretty! Love that little twine and the staples! You are so creative!
I just love the way you have combined pattern and texture Amy and accented with pops of orange. Your card looks like a fabulous interior designer’s mood board! Vicky x
Beautiful vase of flowers and your colour combo is fabulous!
