There’s a new sketch up at Freshly Made Sketches, and this week it comes to us courtesy of Jen Mitchell, our favorite Bay Stater. Take a look at what she has for us:
When I first saw the sketch, I immediately thought of Christmas trees. But when I examined my stamp shelf, I was surprised to find that I didn’t have a stamp set for this. What?!? I’ll have to fix that! But I did decide to use the Hearts & Hugs stamp set, and substitute these two cute little hedgehogs for the two isosceles triangles. I’m not really sure these critters are really hedgehogs, but that’s what I’m calling them.
I stamped and colored the image and then cut it out with my paper snips. I placed it on a piece of white card stock on which I blended some Balmy Blue ink and adhered a piece of dsp from the Nests of Winter collection.
We hope you’ll join us and create your own card using the sketch! Meanwhile, be sure to stop by the Freshly Made Sketches site to see what the design team has created for your inspiration.
Enjoy your Wednesday! Thanks for stopping by!

Great take on the sketch, Amy! I adore this sweet pair!
Those are definitely hedgehogs and they are definitely better than triangles! What a fun take on the sketch!
They are charming! I couldn’t get past the idea of Christmas trees so I love your fun and creative use of the sketch!
I think this is a brilliant idea and love them so much. But – maybe badgers? In any case, it’s the cutest thing ever and so creative. ❤
Such a precious card, and a very unique take on the sketch!
