A Pocketful of Posies — FMS681

There’s a new sketch up at Freshly Made Sketches, and it’s my turn to serve as the hostess. The sketch is pretty simple, and of course you can use another shape for the focal image if you’d like. Here it is:

I kept very true to the sketch this week, and used some of the pretty flowers from the Wildflower Birthday Specialty DSP collection to make a Mother’s Day card.

I cut the little stitched pocket using a die from the Birthday Celebration Dies and placed it on some Misty Moonlight card stock. I used a new die, the Pattern of Friendship die, to add some interest to the background panel. It is available in the online store, and it is going to stay on my desk for a while as I think I really like it.

We hope you’ll join us and create your own card using the sketch! We love to see what you make as we browse the gallery each week. Meanwhile, be sure to stop by the Freshly Made Sketches site to see what the design team has created for your inspiration!

Wildflower Birthday — FMS676

There’s a new sketch up at the Freshly Made Sketches site, and it comes to us from the great Rocky Mountain state of Colorado, courtesy of our talented friend, Kim Singdahlsen. Kim has an amazing eye for detail and always inspires me with the thought that goes into how she personalizes her cards for their recipients. Take a look at her great sketch for the week:

The Wildflower Birthday suite has been my go-to suite out of the mini-catalog. I just love the sweet flowers and pretty colors with the touches of gold. So naturally, that is where my first thoughts went when I saw the sketch.

I started with a sheet of the Wildflower dsp for the background, and then used some of the die-cuts to decorate the card. The sentiment was stamped using the Birthday Celebration set, and embossed with gold embossing powder. Some Party Dots and a white baker’s twine bow were added as embellishments.

A Piece of Cake — FMS672

There’s a new sketch up at Freshly Made Sketches, and this week it comes to us via the amazing Jacquie Southas. Take a look at what she has created for us:

When I first saw this sketch, I knew immediately that I wanted to use the die-cut banner in the Wildflower Birthday dsp collection.

This card was truly a piece of cake! I punched out the banner and the piece of cake and added them to the card front after blending some Peach Pie ink under the cake.

The sentiment is from the Simply Said stamp set, and was inked with Misty Moonlight ink. I added a few Party Dots as an embellishment and I was finished.

Celebrating 24 — FMS670

It’s time for a new sketch over at Freshly Made Sketches, and it is my turn to assume the hostess duties. I wanted to provide a focal panel that provides versatility — you can fill it with many small images, one large image or just a large sentiment, or figure out a creative use of the space. Here’s a look at the sketch:

My elder daughter is turning 24 next month and I thought the beautiful Wildflower Birthday bundle would be perfect with which to make her card.

Starting with a Soft Sea Foam card base, I added a piece of Wildflower Birthday Specialty DSP. I cut out the “24” from some gold foil using the Birthday Celebration Dies, and stamped the rest of the sentiment using the coordinating Birthday Celebration stamp set. The cute little cupcake is one of the die-cuts included with the dsp.

I added some Party Dots and stamped the banner at the top using another stamp from the stamp set and gold embossing powder. For a fun touch, I embossed the banner on the envelope as well.

I love how easy it is to personalize cards with this stamp set. It will be perfect for graduation cards too!
