It’s a Black Fab Friday — FabFri32

It may be Black Friday here in the U.S., but it’s also a Fab Friday.  I much prefer participating in Fab Friday over Black Friday!  You won’t find me out shopping today!  We have a fun color challenge for you today, so if you decide to take a break from shopping, we hope you’ll play along with us.

I saw a card made by Dawn McVey that I really wanted to turn into a Stampin’ Up! card.  I love her style, and cased this card of  hers.  I used the Wishing You stamp set, and a mix of dsp patterns.

Presents CASEYou can check out what the rest of the design team made at the Fab Friday site.  And I hope you’ll play along with us and post your card to the gallery.

Enjoy your Friday!  Thanks for stopping by!

Christmas Wishes Wreath

I love the sketch over at Sketchbook Saturday Challenge this week, so I had to play along:

I have really neglected my Wonderful Wreath stamp this year, so I pulled it off the shelf (and mounted the stamp).  I added some Cherry Cobbler Dazzling Details on the wreath and embossed the sentiment with Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder.

Same Sketch, Different Card

Be of Good CheerThis card uses the same sketch I used on yesterday’s card.    With a different stamp set and different color combination it looks quite different though.

I covered the tag with washi tape, and used another roll on the card base.  The other strip that looks like washi tape is actually a stamp from the Tape It set.  I love that set because it lets you make faux washi tape in any color you like.

Enjoy your Monday!  Thanks for stopping by!

Supplies Used:
Stamps:  Tape It, Wishing You, Endless Wishes
Ink:  Old Olive, Chocolate Chip, Cherry Cobbler
Paper:  Whisper White, Crumb Cake, Chocolate Chip

Sweater Inspiration

Sometimes inspiration comes in unusual places.  When I saw this picture in a Boden catalog, I was immediately inspired to make a card.

So I pulled out my Festive Flurry set and framelits and got to work.  I used the colors in the sweater — a lot of Very Vanilla with a little Basic Black, Crumb Cake and Gold Encore ink.  I had to throw in some sequins too.

Sweater-Inspired Christmas Wishes

While it’s a bit of an unusual color combination for a Christmas card, I like the way it turned out.  Catalogs are often a great source of fresh and fun color combinations.

Enjoy your Sunday!  Thanks for stopping by!

Supplies Used:
Stamps:  Festive Flurry, Endless Wishes, Tape It
Ink:  Versamark, Basic Black, Crumb Cake, Gold Encore
Paper:  Very Vanilla, Crumb Cake, Vellum

An Item for My Wish List

glittered star Christmas

If I could ask the Stampin’ Up! Santa for one item, it would be star-shaped framelits (ok — there would probably be more on my list than just that one item, but this would be right at the top).  I still have the old star punches, which my girls use a lot for school projects, and that is what I used here.  If you don’t have those anymore, you could just use one of the Simply Stars stamps and cut it out the old-fashioned way.  I covered my star with glue and poured on the Champagne Glass Stampin’ Glitter.

Enjoy your Saturday!  Thanks for stopping by!

Starry Wishes — FMS113

Happy Wednesday, everyone!  And since it’s Wednesday, that means it’s time for another sketch challenge over at Freshly Made Sketches.  This week the super talented Cindy Hall is our hostess and she has a fun sketch for us.  As soon as I saw this sketch, I knew I’d love it!

I had just opened my new My Paper Pumpkin kit, and I loved it so much, I wanted to use it right away.  The card idea that comes with the kit is really cute, but I wanted to make one to go with this sketch.  It was really easy and came together in just a few minutes.

Starry WishesI love the star garland that comes in this kit!  And the red and vanilla striped card bases are so festive!  I just added the little strips of glimmer and foil paper and the candy dots.  The rest came with the kit, including the sweet sentiment stamp.

Go by and check out what the rest of the design team did with the sketch at the Freshly Made Sketches site, and then make a card and post it to our gallery.  We love seeing what you make too!

Enjoy your Wednesday!  Thanks for stopping by!

All That Glitters is… Monday Montage #7

Monday Montage Banner -- October

It’s time for another Monday Montage blog hop!  I hope you’ll make your way through all ten stops on the hop, and that you’ll get some great ideas and inspiration along the way.

I have really been enjoying working with gold and white this holiday season.  I think it looks so elegant and festive.  I’ve made two cards for you with this color combination.  I used fiber paste with the polka dot Build a Banner Simply Create Kit stencils on both of the cards.  I just love the texture it provides!

Gold Snowflake 2

On this first card, I used white and gold embossing powder on vellum card stock for the snowflake.  I also used some of the gold Smooch Spritz, which Stampin’ Up retired, but I’m having a hard time letting go.

Gold StarOn this second card, I used gold embossing power on the Christmas Star stamp.  The sentiment comes from the Endless Wishes photopolymer stamps.

I hope you’ll continue your way along the hop path, and go visit the very talented Breelin Renwick’s blog.  If you prefer to venture backwards, you can go visit the amazing Wendy Weixler’s blog.  Either way, you can make your way to all ten blogs.
