A Flower Trio — FabFri13

Yea! It’s time for another challenge at the Fab Friday Challenge Blog today. And I love the sketch for today.

I didn’t use the butterfly shape; I chose an oval instead.  Use your imagination, and surprise us with your creation.  Of course, you can use a butterfly if you’d like.  Who doesn’t like butterflies?

Flower Trio -- Fab Fri13

I am stuck on this color combo — I LOVE it!  Have you noticed how coral is everywhere these days!  Every catalog I get in the mail features this color.

I distressed the flowers with my bone folder before gluing them together.  Here’s a closer look:

Not much stamping on this card — just the chevron background on the oval.  Just plenty of Big Shot work — how did we ever live without this thing?  I didn’t put a sentiment on this card.  I just couldn’t figure out where to put one.  It’s nice to have a few cards on hand without a sentiment anyways.

Well, I hope you can find time to join us at Fab Friday for this sketch challenge.  Enjoy your Friday!  Thanks for stopping by!

A Purple Flower — FabFri12

Are you ready for a color challenge today?  Well, Mindy has a doozy for us this week at the Fab Friday Challenge blog!

When I saw the colors for this one, my little stamping heart received quite a shock — there’s a purple in there!  Oh, no!  Purple and I are not stamping friends. 🙂  I even had to unwrap the packaging on my Perfect Plum ink pad to do this challenge, which tells you how often I use this color.  But it is called a challenge after all, so I gathered up my courage and ventured on.

I applied some Dazzling Diamonds glitter to the flower and it did not want to photograph well.  It looks like there is only glitter on the bottom half of the flower, but it’s really over the whole flower — I guess it was just the way the sun was hitting the card when I took the picture.  Here’s another look:

I was inspired by all of the Polaroid/Instagram looks I’ve been seeing everywhere these days, and decided to make a frame based on the look.  I just cut a rectangle of the dsp and drew a square on the back, and then cut out the square with my paper snips.  I then popped it up with dimensionals.

Enjoy your Friday!  I hope you can find some time to join us at Fab Friday for the color challenge.  Remember, you get two weeks.  Thanks for stopping by!

Yea! It’s time for another Fab Friday challenge! Mindy has a great sketch for us this time around.

I used one of the Sale-a-Bration stamp sets and designer series papers for this one.  I used a sponge dauber to add Rich Razzleberry ink to the Flower Trim (I LOVE that stuff!).

A Soft Soda Pop Top Card — FabFri10

It’s Friday!  And this week is another Fab Friday challenge.  It’s a color challenge this week.

When I first saw the colors, I thought the challenge would be pretty easy since I love all of these colors.  However, after struggling for a long while with how to incorporate them all into one card, I decided that this would truly be a challenge for me.  I knew I wanted to somehow incorporate the new soda pop tops into my project because I hadn’t used them yet.  Here’s what I ended up with after much deliberation.  I must have pulled out dozens of patterned papers and stamp sets.

Soft Soda Pop Top -- FabFri09

I used the new stamp set, Collage Curios, for the circle inside the Soda Pop Top.  I layered two of the stamped doilies from Delicate Doilies under it.  Here’s a closer look at the Soda Pop Top:

A Row of Butterflies — FabFri09

It’s time for another Fab Friday challenge after having been on a short break for the Christmas holiday.  Mindy has a great sketch challenge for this week.

I immediately thought of snowflakes when I saw this sketch, but my heart wanted to do something more Spring-y.  Maybe it’s because of all of the cold and gray weather we’ve been having lately, and I’m looking forward to Spring already.

A Row of Butterflies

Here’s another card with some fun new products from the Sping catalog.  I used the new Bitty Butterfly punch, which layers perfectly with the Elegant Butterfly punch in the annual catalog.  And I also used some of the new Delicate Details Lace Tape, which comes in two designs and has a self-adhesive backing, so it’s easy to attach to your projects.

Here’s a closer look at the tape and butterflies:

Bells & Birds — FabFri08

I was recently asked to join the Fab Friday Challenge Blog design team.  It’s a relatively new challenge blog, and there are some really great stampers that are on this team.  I was honored to be asked and excited to join.  So every other Friday, a new challenge is posted on the blog.  Come by and play along!  I’d love to see what you do with the challenges!

This week’s challenge is a color challenge, and there are lots of colors to work with.  I keep forgetting that there is a cute Christmas stamp in the For the Birds set, so when I remembered recently, I knew I wanted to use it for this challenge.  I used my markers to color in the image.

Bells & A Bird

I bought a package of red, glittery bells at a Christmas clearance sale last year and stashed them away for this Christmas.  Of course, I forgot all about them until my little one found them the other day and was jingling away throughout the house.  For once, I was thankful that she was digging in stuff she wasn’t supposed to be.

Enjoy your Friday!  Don’t forget to go over to the Fab Friday challenge blog to see what the rest of the team did with the challenge this week, and play along with us.  Thanks for stopping by!
