I Love our Life Together — FMS369

Happy New Year, everyone!  I hope your Christmas was full of joy and that you are having a great start to 2019.  I have a couple more days here with my college student before he heads back to school.  It’s so nice having the family all together.  The days pass way too quickly though.

We’re back with our first sketch for the year, and this week it is my pleasure to be the hostess at Freshly Made Sketches.  I have a sketch that I think will be quite versatile and I hope you’ll play along with us.  Here’s a look at the sketch:

I have a box of goodies from the Occasions catalog and Sale-a-Bration, which starts tomorrow, that I’ve been dying to tear into but have been too preoccupied with the holidays.  I thought the circle image in the sketch would be perfect for one of the new heart dies in the Occasions catalog so that is the direction I took.

I love this particular heart die because the detail is gorgeous.  I used it with some retired red glimmer paper and paired it with Powder Pink card stock and a piece of Tropical Escape dsp.  The dsp was cut using a new stitched rectangle die, which is another new offering in the Occasions catalog.

The sentiment is from the coordinating stamp set, Meant to Be.

We hope you’ll join us and create your own card using the sketch.  We love to see what you create.  Meanwhile, be sure to stop by the Freshly Made Sketches site to see what the design team has created for your inspiration.  We are excited to have three new designers on the team, and I’m sure you’ll love what they’ve made.

Enjoy your Wednesday!  Thanks for stopping by!

Festive Farmhouse — FMS368

With Christmas right around the corner, we have one last sketch at Freshly Made Sketches for you in 2018.  Our hostess this week is a newly crowned Artisan Design Team winner and our friend from down under, Narelle Faruggia.  Take a peek at this fun sketch:

Since I still hadn’t made a card with the cute farmhouse in the Farmhouse Christmas set, I knew I wanted to make it work with the sketch somehow.  Hopefully you can use your imagination and see that the house represents the oval in the sketch.

I sponged a couple of pieces of shimmery card stock with Balmy Blue and Crumb Cake inks to create the two background panels.  I colored the trees and house with my markers.

This was a fun card to make as it’s so fun playing with all of the pieces to create a scene.  This card reminds me of Christmas at my Grandma & Grandpa’s farmhouse.  I miss them and spending time on their farm.  Those are good memories.

We hope you’ll join us and create your own card using the sketch.  We love to browse the gallery and see what you create.  Meanwhile, be sure to stop by the Freshly Made Sketches site to see what the design team has created for your inspiration.

Since I most likely won’t get another card posted before Christmas, I want to wish you a wonderful Christmas.  I hope you get to spend it with those you love most and are able to relax and enjoy it amidst all of the busyness that the season brings.

Enjoy your Wednesday!  Thanks for stopping by!

Bright Lights of Christmas — FMS367

We have another new sketch for you over at Freshly Made Sketches.  And this week our hostess is our amazingly talented New Zealander friend, Karren Johnson.  Take a look at what she has for us:

This is also your last chance to submit your entry for our Design Team Call.  If you are interested, be sure to go by the Freshly Made Sketches site to read about the qualifications and responsibilities.

This week’s card uses a little bit of several different things.  I thought I would start with a card from the Santa’s Workshop Memories & More Card Pack.  I knew I wanted to use the cute little bulbs from the Making Christmas Bright set for the shape in the bottom left corner, but what to use for the big middle panel?  How about a big sentiment?

The sentiment is a great mix of fonts and is from the Merry Christmas to All stamp set.

I used a color combo of Real Red, Granny Apple Green, and Pineapple Punch.

We hope you’ll join us and create your own card using the sketch.  We love to see what you make as we browse the gallery each week.  Meanwhile, be sure to stop by the Freshly Made Sketches site to see what the design team has created for your inspiration.

Starry Christmas Night — FMS366

It’s time for another new sketch over at Freshly Made Sketches, and this week our favorite French stamper, Cecile Ribon, is our hostess.  Not only do we have a fabulous new sketch, but we are also having a Design Team Call.  This FMS design team is truly the best group of ladies, and I love working with them.  If you would like to be a part of the team, this is your opportunity.  Head to the Freshly Made Sketches page to see what the qualifications and entry rules are.  Here is a look at our fun sketch for this week:

Since any shape can be used for the tree in this sketch, I pulled out an old favorite Christmas set that I haven’t used yet this year, Star of Light.  The dies that coordinate with this set are so beautiful.

While trying to decide on a starry background for the big focal star, I remembered the baby-themed dsp set, Twinkle Twinkle.  I thought the dark blue paper would be perfect to reflect a starry Christmas night.

The star was cut from a Silver Foil sheet, and the top detailed star was cut from some Sparkle Glimmer Paper.  The sentiment was embossed with silver embossing powder.  I love how this card has a lot of sparkle and beautiful detail with very little work.

We hope you’ll join us and create your own card using the sketch.  We love to see what you create!  And don’t forget to apply for the Design Team Call if you’re interested!  Meanwhile, be sure to stop by the Freshly Made Sketches site to see what the design team has created for your inspiration!

Dashing Glittered Deer — FMS365

Whew!  These Wednesdays are flying by!  It’s time for a new sketch at Freshly Made Sketches, and this week our talented Canadian friend, Jen Brum, is our hostess.  Take a look at what she has for us:

One of the first sets on my Holiday Catalog order was the Dashing Deer bundle.  So I decided it was about time to actually use it.

I started by die cutting the deer with the gorgeous antlers from some Gold Glimmer Paper.  He was placed on a Very Vanilla piece of card stock embossed with the Softly Falling embossing folder, which I don’t think will ever leave my collection.

A piece of Festive Farmhouse dsp and a piece of dsp from the current Paper Pumpkin kit were added to the card base.  The sentiment was embossed with gold embossing powder.

We hope you’ll join us and create your own cards using the sketch.  We love to browse the gallery and see what you do with the sketch.  Meanwhile, be sure to stop by the Freshly Made Sketches site to see what the design team has created for your inspiration.

Christmas Truck — FMS364

It’s time for a new sketch at Freshly Made Sketches and this week our hostess is our favorite Rocky Mountain card maker extraordinaire, Kim Singdahlsen.  Take a look at this fun sketch:

Since I hadn’t used the Farmhouse Christmas set yet, I decided to make it work with this sketch.  I love the sweet pickup truck and thought it could fit in the circle shape, while some festive plaid paper could take up the square.

The card base was embossed with the Woodland embossing folder.  A little bit of ribbon and a button with twine were added as embellishments.

We hope you’ll join us and create your own card using the sketch.  We love to see what you create!  Meanwhile be sure to stop by the Freshly Made Sketches site to see what the design team has created for your inspiration.

Skis for Christmas — FMS363

It’s time for a new sketch over at Freshly Made Sketches, and this week our crafty pilot friend, Jennifer Timko, is our hostess.  Take a look at this fun sketch:

While looking for a long image, vertical image to work with this sketch, I grabbed my Alpine Adventures set.  Since I live in Texas, snow skis are not exactly what comes to mind when I think of Christmas, but I do think they would make great Christmas decorations.

I started with a piece of Festive Farmhouse dsp and mounted it on a Cherry Cobbler card base.  The skis were stamped with Soft Suede ink and die cut with the coordinating Alpine Sports thinlits.

I inked one of the Festive Farmhouse Elements with Cherry Cobbler ink and a sponge dauber and placed it on the card for the sentiment.  The “Christmas” comes from the Merry Christmas to All stamp set.

We hope you’ll join us and create your own card using the sketch.  We love to see what you make as we browse the gallery.  Meanwhile, be sure to stop by the Freshly Made Sketches site to see what the design team has created for your inspiration.

Happy to Know You — FMS362

It’s Wednesday and that means it’s time for a new sketch over at Freshly Made Sketches.  Linda Callahan, our favorite pun-ster and stamper extraordinaire from New York, is our hostess this week, and she has a great classic for us:

My desk is a mess, and one of the sets I still have on it is the Floral Frames stamp set.  As I knew I wanted to use a sentiment from the Friendly Expressions stamp set, I thought the two sets could work together.

I die cut the leaves using the Foliage Frame framelits dies.  The little flowers are actually from the Detailed Deer Thinlits.

I used a color scheme of Calypso Coral, Blackberry Bliss, and Mint Macaron.  The dsp is from the Nature’s Poem dsp collection.

We hope you’ll join us and create your own card using the sketch!  Meanwhile, be sure to stop by the Freshly Made Sketches site to see what the design team has made for your inspiration.

Holidays Sledding — FMS361

We have a new sketch for you over at Freshly Made Sketches this week, and our hostess is our favorite New England Patriots fan, Jen Mitchell.  Take a look at what she has for us:

I decided to make another card for the Christmas stash.  Since I have the Alpine Adventure bundle and hadn’t used it yet, I decided that should be my set for the day.  I bought this set primarily for the sled die, so I knew that was going on this card.

The sled was die-cut from a piece of Wood Textures dsp, while a strip of Festive Farmhouse dsp was used on the card base.

I pulled out my Merry Christmas to All bundle for the sentiment.  I just love this set!  The word dies are gorgeous.

We hope you’ll join us and create your own card using the sketch.  We love to see what you make.  Meanwhile, be sure to stop by the Freshly Made Sketches site to see what the design team has created for your inspiration.

Noel Pines — FMS360

It’s time for a new sketch at Freshly Made Sketches, and it’s my turn to be the hostess.  That means I get to make the sketch for the week, which is always a little intimidating.  Here is what I came up with for this one:

When I drew this up weeks ago, I had intended to have Fall leaves peeking out underneath the oval.  However, when I sat down to make the card last week, I was drawn to a Christmas theme.

The large Noel sentiment is one of my favorites.  I love the font and the bold look.  And I love the coordinating greenery that goes with this stamp set.

The greenery was die-cut using the Pretty Pines Thinlits dies, from Mossy Meadow, Old Olive and Cherry Cobbler card stock.  A piece of Festive Farmhouse dsp was attached to the card base.

We hope you’ll join us and create your own card using the sketch!  I am looking forward to browsing the gallery this week and seeing what y’all make with it.  Meanwhile, be sure to stop by the Freshly Made Sketches site to see what the design team has created for your inspiration.

Enjoy your Wednesday!  Thanks for stopping by!
